There is no mistaking that voice. Dave Despain is certainly the Legend of racing commentators. Along with Chris Economaki, Dave Despain is simply the voice of American motorsports for the last 60 years.

My grandparents used to live adjacent to the fairgrounds and I can remember summers parking cars in the yard for $10 a car and listening to the motors echo over from the mile track. Good times!

in 1962 I would help my uncle park cars on Sangamon ave. just up from the main gate during fair week for .25 a car.
