  • @markusz2n

    @markusz2n

    2 ай бұрын

    @@lazarpeuraca9618 If the dirt is very loose with only little grip, then pulling in the clutch is a valid maneuver. If the surface is somewhat grippy and with the significant weight of the Africa Twin this would likely end in a highsider, with the rear wheel being able to get traction on the lateral axis. If you keep on the throttle (or in the best case, slowly reduce your throttle input) you use up some of the available grip of the tire for that and keep the tire from gripping too hard and ending in a highsider.

    The engine breaking on the Africa twin can be pretty extreme depending on the settings, you can literally ride down a mountain without using your breaks. My guess is that he rolled on the power and the back end slid out so he rolled off the throttle and with heavy engine breaking it was the equivalent of him using the rear break and doing a skid. This has almost happened to me before. If ever you ride on dirt you want the engine breaking turning down.

    Sometimes when we fall is because we panic and almost throw ourselves down the ground, lots of times you can save it (like this guy did), by just keeping the front wheel on track, the rear wheel can go wherever it wants as long as the front is on track.
