My school did this and had so many "Oh no"s written on it. 1) Our show was gonna be a bunch of tourists (winds, brass, percussion) on a train touring Africa. Then the natives (color guard) come up out of nowhere and attack the train. The teacher changed it from natives to wild animal spirits after a lot of us said that African natives attacking a train unprovoked might look a little racist. 2) The train was a hazard and I'm surprised no one got injured. And please understand, it wasn't just us standing in a platform in wheels, no no no. We were on _benches_ on platforms in wheels. Benches that weren't bolted down, had a possibility of collapse because they were foldable, and would sometimes not be completely on the platform. So imagine the fear of being on a bench on a _moving_ platform and having to _freakin jump off of it with my tenor sax before my assigned animal spirit lunges at me._ Not gonna lie, though, my favorite parts were when we got to disregard the rules that have been drilled into our heads. Like jumping off of stuff with your instrument and sprinting at a color guard member full speed like you're about to *_murder her with your SAXOPHONE RAAAAAAAAH!!!_* I slipped and fell in my back during rehearsals practicing this and everyone (including me) fussed over my sax before seeing if I was okay. Junior year was fun.

Getting a faceful of that powerful sound on this piece gave me a lot of newfound respect for you guys' abilities, horns gotta put up with some crazy stuff from composers, I don't know how y'all do it! Mad props and lotsa love from the back row!
