However, it is because of shared history and culture that Indians too can be respectful of the achievements of Pakistan by identifying with it through our own history and culture.. And hopefully, same happens the other way around.. Fighting has its place.. Respect has its place too...

Thats so funny that you discovered Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan by listening to Jeff Buckley because the same thing happened to me and, I am Indian and didn't know the awesome talent of nusrat. But it's sad that we lost both great talents the same year just a few months apart. RIP to both Nusrat sir and Jeff. ♥️🙏🏻♥️

Fun Fact: Jeff Buckley was a huge fan of Pakistani Singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, in early 90s he was introduced to his music and covered some of his songs, he even interviewed him in mid 90s. Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, the guy is this video is actually his nephew n learned music from him... ;)

People are commenting this isn't indian the language may not be indian but the style is copied from indian classical. This is indian style of singing since pakistani people don't realise their ancestors were hindus.

I'm so tired of these type of comments. There's literally nothing you have to prove we all know it's classical style music from the Indian subcontinent. Pakistanis didn't migrate from Europe and steal Indian heritage or something, you're confusing that with Israel. Both countries share the same musical heritage. Nothing hard to understand tbh and neither does it take away from the fact that Pakistan is talented in the field of music.

I did not know that whether they were using head voice or not but in hindustan classical music using head voice is prohibited. They have to do those stuffs in their chest voice only.

I don't think it's tradition to go this high in terms of vocals, this dude just has a god given gift and years of practise and mentoring by his uncle Nusrat. I mean for his talent he must be one of the best if not the best in the world.

Yes rahat fateh ali is related to NFAK. He is the nephew of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, son of Farrukh Fateh Ali Khan, the harmonium player always sitting on the left side of NFAK. Rahat was taught by NFAK himself and rahat has sung live together with NFAK since his childhood and is present in most of the videos of NFAK concerts. and if you want to hear more from coke studio react to "chap tilak" , "Rang" , "Tajadar e Haram" , "Naina More" , " saynoee".

Jeff Buckley was a big fan of nusrat fateh ali khan and Pakistani music since before his debut.
