Balkh or Bactria is the oldest city in Central Asia, it’s the first city that Arian people made it, but unfortunately mogul and Turks destroyed it and then people of Balkh, made Mazar e sharif city beside it

My ancestors are from Balkh, now living in SF California, very interesting. It's actually one of the oldest universities in the world, maybe the first. It would be nice if you could go to my grandfather's shrine, Syed Ismai'l Balkhi, if it's still there in Kabul I think.

Hey there I was there three years ago. Everywhere accepts American dollars. Yes you can withdraw from atm’s although there’s not loads of them, and only in the larger cities. Hope that helps.
