This bass is really amazing. Such a nice tone for the price too. HB tottally nailed it.
Setting up any bass or guitar is always a lot of fun. I started figuring things out on my first early, budget guitars in the mid 1970s. Thank you dear host.
Just purchased this lovely instrument. Can't wait to get it setup

I don't.
Harley Benton seems to have awesome guitars and basses. Nice!
I bought one of these from Thomann & was very excited about it (Aug 2020) but first off the pickups were set into the body misaligned & noticeably askew (they offered me a 10% discount for this which I accepted - (though I felt it was a little bit ‘minimum possible’ as a gesture) but then I discovered when I played it through a bass amp that there was a horrible level of buzzing and humming coming from the tone pots & pickups, which was way beyond acceptable. They did agree to the return of the instrument for a refund (though they seem to prefer to offer you in store credit by default). All told it was quite a dissapointment to me - esp seeing as I emailed them before buying this bass to ask about the QC on these. Maybe I was just very unlucky in this instance. Thomann were actually pretty decent about it in the end & the one thing that I can say is great about this company is their customer service & the fact they will accept & pay for returns if you aren't happy with a purchase.

Yes, I have to agree about the pickups. They are made for a bass with much closer string spacing (maybe a Hoefner?), so the pole pieces bear no relation with the strings. And the tone control is useless. BUT I must say I'm enjoying it!
@SiFi5478
10 ай бұрын
@Garbhan51 can't you just move the brass saddles left or right within the wooden bridge so the string spacing lines up with the pickup pole pieces? I think you can take them out easily and pop them in any of the bridge grooves to help aid intonation further...

Thanks for this post. The QC and the noise was what I was worried about. Have heard other horror stories with HB guitars. Plus getting one shipped to Pennsylvania, U.S.A. Always leery of that.

Really cool sounding bass, great looking too and a big thumbs up to your great bass player.👍
Beautiful bass looks and tone both.
As usual, very cool to hear some budget bass, esspecially a semi-hollow. And René's playing has reached the moon, one of your best vidéo ever ! Those riffs were amazing ! I'd love to know more about the process of making those sound samples !

I have one now .... just had to change strings ( flat w )and work on the action ..... and i really love her... my 77 pbass is a little jealous now :)
I really dig it. I think its the best Harley Benton bass I've seen (and heard) yet
Sweet sound. I love that hollow body. I have an Harmony h22 with labella flats
Great playing!
Nice bass nice review keep up the good work guys Paul , Liverpool UK Cheers 😀
I have one of these with tapewounds and it is incredible. I really like how kind of orange/brown yours looks, as mine is deep red. Looks good, I just like the color of this one a little more.

@AFreshTake on this bass I like the DeAddario tapes, since they have a steel core. The LaBellas are also good, but they have a nylon core, so they are a little softer.
Beautiful thing! I wonder if they make it in a 5 string?
everything about this bass is amazing,ok maybe not the bridge put for the price i am amazed and it looks amazing

What I liked was the sound of the instrument.It was like a Gibson midtown or a Fender Coronado Bass.What I would have preferred would have been separate volume and tone controls for each pick up.He also didn't think much of the bridge.Not the easiest thing to adjust to get the intonation and action right.Nice sounding pickups with a vintage sound.How much would it be in American money?

Sounds good, but yet another Harley Benton review? Could you pleased review the new Yamaha BB series basses?
A very good Review , thanks ...
Thanks ....it certainly looks & sounds very good....& still available for around €250 ??
haven't seen a rickenbacker for a while... lets see one. Or it would be cool to have something like a Steinberger or a Wal bass
Great review! :)
I have this bass for quite some time now and i have to say that it even plays nicer than my AGB205 with flatwounds. So, flatwounds on the HB60? Must be a eargasm and feel. Nice vid, by the way, ... like always.

Gregor has done tons of Harley Benton reviews already, so much so, the channel is starting to feel like the bass equivalent of EytschPi42's guitar channel, where he "reviews" more Harley Benton guitars than anyone else. Nothing against Thomann's house brand, but there a lots of great basses out there, Gregor spending so much time of HB basses starts to feel like marketing.
would sound great with a set of flatwounds
This bass is awesome
Are these pickups the same as the NYT mini humbuckers as far as size?
i liked how it sounds bridge pickup only
I have the same bass :) nice vid, but how did you remove the white tissue thing from below the bridge pickup? is it a protective thing and should I try to remove it or leave it there? thanks!

Hi :) i realy wanted that bass, but it was waitingtime for many weeks in my country, so i did buy a Epiphone Thunderbird for a good price....but... i still want that Harley Benton HB-60 WB i think it looks so cool and beautyfull in brown color, but i seen a few other brands in the same type of model, i dont remember the prices, but do you recomand this as a just sit at home alone playing for myself kind of bass? Learning some Cliff Borton stuff 😅..its to late im 50..but anyway, i just like it, should i get rid off my Epiphone Thunderbird? Or ....just have both ? 😂 Best regards from Norway.
does it mudbass? can you get an epiphone rivoli or EB-2 tone frome it?
does the bridge have studs holding it to the body? i have trust issues with archtops with bridges like that one
@vikingfortiesfaeroes
5 жыл бұрын
@Brian Torres "does the bridge have studs holding it to the body?" No, it's the same bridge as on cheaper Hofner basses, so only the string tension holding it in place.
How do they manage such low prices?I am tempted.
can you measure how much mm or inches is the pickup height neck and bridge bass and treble side because i changed the default height ?

adjust it using your ears dude
would love to but it but there's no shipping to Russin on Thomann
I purchased this guitar but noticed my E and A string seem to rattle when I play them and make a similar sound to fret buzzing. I was wondering if you have had this problem and if so how did you fix it.
hi can I buy this bass as a left hand in the USA ? thanks
How did you get that color I can't find it
The bridge is awesome. Simply move the piece of fret material to another slot as you move the bridge. Intonation is very achievable, like the Hofner, only THOUSANDS LESS!
It sounds great to me
Wow that's great to hear, how much in the U.S.A. would 249 Euros be, or how much would that cost in the United States.is there a website and item number for the bass so a person who wants one can find it by the item number. Thank you so much for your information.
@thumper303
6 жыл бұрын
It would be around $300, but they have rosewood fretboards so unless they change them to blackwood or some other alternative, it's doubtful Thomann will be able to ship them to the US. Hope this helps!

WTF? This is EXACTLY the same as my Eastwood Classic 4. The knobs are slightly different but other than that, the tuners, headstock design, bridge, tailpiece, control layout, body design, pickguard shape, fret markers,etc. are the same. Are these two brands owned by the same people?
@pawelm.456

quit similar, except for the curve of the cutaway, wich is way more good looking in the Eastwood in my opinion . However, Harley Benton makes copies of a lot of brands (Gibson, Fender, Hofner, PRS, Ibanez, Ricken etc.) , so maybe it's just one more copie, or maybe they are affiliated with Eastwood, I don't know

Can i play the bass also acustic ?
@kimprins8338

I wouldn't recommend that, although you can of course. The bass loses a lot of deep sounds when you play acoustic. Like whem you are doing eq and turn bass all the way down and treble all the way up
It looks like a Wilson bass I had in the early 70's
