As soon as a came across this workbench i new it was exactly what i was looking for. It is super strong and has a lot of weight that helps with hand tool operations
the whole thing is constructed from two sheets of plywood and one sheet of mdf. i think the whole probably cost about 200 bucks.
it also features a twin vise and dog holes.
the base is constructed with mortise and tenon joinery.
i got this plan from www.finewoodworking.com/FWNFRE...

I've had the chance to use this table a couple of times now. It's fun to whip out in front of people:) I can see what people are talking about when they say the legs are delicate, but they're design to support a "mostly" vertical load, not be torqued from the side or pushed back into place. If you just let the table open or close on it's own and don't force anything, it works great kzread.infoUgkxyFZUPFEey-PuqsPMxqaykBhgA1LWxFHh Once it's set up, it's pretty solid. My only gripe would probably be related to the clamps provided. They're not the highest quality. They do the job, so no big deal, but they could be better. All in all, pretty cool gadget.
Man, I’ve been watching so many bench builds looking for something reasonable for what I need soon. I’m glad I came across yours. This looks like exactly what I need. I love the full length drawer addition. I will definitely do the same. Peace!
This was the best workbench video I've seen. Thank you for speeding up the tedious parts, and thank you for not over-complicating the design.

+BlockCylinder Great comment. Regarding fast action...I watch Jay Bates, Diresta, blazingnailguns, (Jay is the master at it, IMO) and love the fast motion videos, minimal talking and theory lessons. Some videos run 30 minutes long with 5 minutes of useful content. Great job shop Built. Love this work bench. I don't need one, but I sure am tempted to build it.
I have watched your video about 10 times. I am really excited to build a version of this. Actually i'm going to build two of them with locking wheels. I am adding a removable section that will go between the two benches that will join them together to make a miter, and the bench top tool, station. I am also making them a little shorter so one can be an out feed table for my table saw. I am working out of my garage so space is important. They will be doing about 10 different jobs. And if i don't need them i can just roll them out of the way. Thanks for a great video and build.
I have been scanning through the KZread videos featuring work bench building and this is by far the best I have watched. Thank you very much. I will be copying this one.
I am setting up my shop here in Northern Ireland UK and I have viewed a few designs for an affordable work bench, yours is by far the best, thank you for your video, keep up the great work.
By far one of my favorite benches. Looks great and seems to be very solid. Thanks.
The secret to quality joints, French's Yellow Mustard.
I just built this bench on the weekend. It really is an awesome bench. Solid as a rock. Easy to build and cheap. I built it the same height as my table saw. Finally I now have an outfeed table. Thanks for the video. I have watched it several times now.
This is the Ducks Guts, brilliant and just what I have been searching for to start my woodworking journey. Simple, easy to make and sturdy enough to get going. Champion!!
The mortise and tennon idea is genius.
I'm really liking the contrast of the MDF and the maple trim, great looking project!
I built this bench with the exception of the bottom shelf, which I used 3 layers of the plywood to make a center stringer and cleats to hold 2 MDF shelves separated by the showing stringer. Love the look of the plywood grain on the workbench. It's interesting and VERY strong. Thanks for sharing the plans with me.
Delighted to see the sturdiness and simplicity of built and extremely lucid video. Thanks for sharing. Any woodworkers most loved project is the workbench he has built.

Blown away! That was fantastic. I love the Mortise & Tenon Trick, how interesting and simple. I've watched over 30 Bench videos, and i'd like to say this is...... the one i'd like to build! Thank you.

Great upload! This is a project that is actually in my budget as well as being an essential piece of kit for any workspace
Man, that's amazing idea for a workbench! Congratulations.
Liked it so much....I made one. Came out fantastic too. Only difference is, I laminated my top with white formica.
Glad to see you wearing your safety squints in the shop.
We had students build three of those benches for our school's MakerSpace. It's a simple way to get a really sturdy bench.
What a fantastic looking and functional workbench!
They are from lee valley tools. Thanks for watching!

Love the full width drawer and plywood tennons.
I love the full length drawer. Great Idea!!

Looks like a great bench. Thanks for sharing.
That's a pretty awesome bench. I've been "suffering" with using just my tablesaw for glue ups, assembly, etc., but I think it's finally time for a dedicated bench.
2017/02/06 - I just saw this video and I have search for years for the prefect work bench. And I have to say. This is the best looking bench I have seen. It really looks amazing. I just subscribed and planing to see all your videos.
Thanks for the video, between watching this and the link I put one together over the weekend. Good stuff thanks again
Excellent Method. Thank you for sharing.
I like it. Love how you hung the tools
I just finished exactly the same workbench. its amazing i really enjoyed it and it was really simple to build . it took like 8 hours to finish the whole thing but it consumed a little bit more sheets // two sheets of Plywood and 2 sheets of MDF Thank you so much for the video

Brilliant table Love this.
Niçe build. Thanks for the video. Built most of this today. Just a couple more hours and another sheet of 3/4 ply for backing the MDF top. I've been wanting to build a decent and affordable woodworking bench, and you really helped me out. Nice touch with the drawer.

Awesome! If you don't mind send me some pictures when your finished. You can email me from www.shopbuilt.org Thanks Ryan
Nice bench man! I really like how you used multiple sheets of ply to build up legs like that... Nice and heavy, and really stable. Also cool how it makes the mortise and tenon joint so easy.
Nice build, looks versatile and strong !

Nice build and I enjoyed the video. Thanks!
Great build. Clean and straight forward. Also thank you so much for showing the final product first....I loath scrubbing through videos to see if I even like the idea to then go back and see how it was built haha. Thumbs up and sub for that bud :)
Awesome, simple, clever. Subscribed and liked.
Hey thanks for the video. Really liked the way it's built. I get lots of scraps from work and decided to build one. ( really two! ). It's 2'×4' I also screwed them together. Its very sturdy! I also built drawers that are accessed from both sides. Haven't drilled holes for bench dogs.( still deciding) thanks again!
Very nice! Good job!
Nicely done.
It came out very good.
Very clever WB!
Great bench! Good job.
Will do. Should have it finished up, this weekend. I've been doing some reading on MDF a workbench tops (vs hardwood). Lots of opinions out there. A suggestion I am going to follow, will be to shellac the top, and then a light coat of wax. Not too slippery, but just enough to make glue clean-ups easier.
Love the baby monitor on the bench. I do the same thing.
Excellent work
That bench looks like it will last a few lifetimes. Good work.
You did a very good job!
Looks like a good bench. I've been looking for good bench and a cheap one. I think this is the one ...Thanks for the great videos. I made your box joint jig and I love it...
Looks like a great bench. It should serve you well :)

exactly what i was looking for in a bench. thanks
Well done. Thanks
Love the tenon idea cleaver stuff mate
Awesome looking table, I love the way it came out! How have the dog holes held up over time on the MDF?
VERY WELL DONE PROFESSIONAL
nice. i have a similar plan using plywood ripped and tenons as you used them
very nice. Very professional quality bench.
Never seen that done using plywood for the main support structure before. I was about to build one using 4 x 4 posts but now you got me wondering. Great build! Not a big fan of MDF for the surface though.
Smart design.
Nice job.
Excellent!
Interesting idea. I'm about to start an 8 ft long bench for my garage.
Came out good
That looks great. I an probably going to build a similar one. I probably won't use mustard though...
Awesome design, I will probably borrow from it when I build mine. I will add wheels tho.
great Job..Thanks for sharing..godbless
That is a tremendous bench.
i like this and just downloaded plans, but I would like to incorporate couple my own features, like inserts to make table saw and router table which I not have, so it be all in one unit. nice job
Just found your channel and subscribed. I do like your work! The bench is great. I was always leery in using plywood for legs but on my new bench I think I will give it a shot. Are the laminated pieces of ply strong? Better than 2x4 legs? Thanks for what you do it does not go unappreciated that's for sure.
I just built this bench. It came out really well and is a beautiful bench if you highlight the end grain of the plywood with some light stain. thanks!!
This is such a cool video simple easy effective you my friend have a subscriber
