You get good quality with that brand. Probably good customer service and some bike shops will sell and work on those I bet. Always a little tame in the speed and battery department with Himiway.

I just got back from riding, so couldn't watch the premier 😢. I had fun though; did 18 miles, hit a mountain bike trail, and rode UP a sledding/toboggan run! Good review on the Himiway Escape Pro, and it seems like it would be great for errands. I'll take a twist throttle any day

I have the original himiway escape and it can definitely go faster out the box and you also buy a new display that unlocks the speed settings and gets it around 29mph easily. Great vid.

Awesome review. I'm digging that the Himiway is using a BMX style handlebar as I'm in the midst of updating my e-bike with a similar setup to get an upright riding position.

Himiway definitely went for the same design style of the old Tomos mopeds that Juiced Bikes did with my HyperScorpion. Normally I would give the "better deal" honors to the Himiway Escape Pro, but right now Juiced is phasing out the "Hyper" model name in their HyperScorpion and HyperScrambler bikes (due to it just not being worth fighting the trademark infringement -- so they're keeping these bikes in their line-up but just renaming them), so the HyperScorpion is only $1899 (normally $2499) and everything on it is a significant upgrade to the Himiway (bigger 1000w motor/52v battery/30a controller, cadence and torque sensors, 30+mph top speed, seat riser option for taller riders, full hydraulic brakes, 8-speed gearing with an oversized chainring for easy pedaling at higher speeds, built-in 52v to 12v reducer for motorcycle style headlight, brake light, turn signals, horn, etc.) The HyperScorpion is simply a better featured bike, but at almost $1000 less between the two normal prices, the Himiway is an awesome deal and seems like a very similar experience. I would've been HIGHLY tempted by this bike when I was deciding on my HyperScorpion, and the Himiway may have gotten the nod just on economics alone. Great, thorough review, as usual! I believe the display can be changed with a left thumb button, so that it tells you top speed, and other items. But it's better that you used GPS, because a bike manufacturer may be biased high to make people brag on the bike. Like some speedo's do!

Also, does the seat on this make it anymore difficult to pedal? I know some have said that moped style ebikes tend to be less efficient if you want to pedal.

Yes, a cadence sensor is a little more instant and it takes you to a certain speed that’s programmed… a torque sensor actually gives you what you push into it so if you’re lightly pushing the pedals, you’re gonna be going a little bit slower you will still have some assist and if you push harder, you’ll get even more assist. It’s almost more natural feeling.

For me, the moped style bikes are always a little bit harder to pedal since you can’t get a nice stretch on your legs if you’re taller so after a while, your knees might start hurting, but some moped style bikes you can sit further back and pedal. This bike definitely has a comfortable seat though.

Press “+”, “-” and “i” at the same time for 2 seconds. Then the display will be changed. Press “-” and “i” at the same time for 2 seconds. Then the display will be changed again. Enter the password 0510. Press “i” to confirm your password. Then the display will be changed. Press “i” again. Release the button until the display entered the speed setting page. Press “+” or “-” to adjust your speed. Switch the speed unit from mph to km/h. Press “i” to confirm your setting.
