Affirm CEO: This is the most financially responsible generation
Buy Now, Pay Later services are increasingly popular as Americans rack up record debt and feel the pressure of inflation. Max Levchin, founder and CEO of Affirm, sat down with CNN's Matt Egan to talk about how consumers are increasingly paying for things later.
Americans are increasingly falling behind on their credit card bills and car loans as years of high inflation take their toll. This spike in delinquencies is raising fears about the Buy Now, Pay Later boom. Critics worry these increasingly popular short-term lenders are allowing shoppers to pile on even more debt - at exactly the wrong time.

Wow. This CEO is flat out lying.
I skipped the ad just to see another ad.
This is the most financially strapped generation...in about a century.
Inflation does not compute in this CEO's head, just one more institution to add to the bankruptcy list you will have when you double it up.
Right, what about the credit card debt spiral

They want us not to think that we're very poor, that we can't affort even simple things such as a TV or a toaster. People, wake up!
With this system, you never own anything when you stuff is repo'ed. Poor credit will prevent them from affording a car or rent.

@@Skyisthelimit4me I have a fixed rate mortgage at 4.25% with 15 years left on it. My house is already 3 times the value I paid. None of my niece's and nephew's will be able to afford rent or a mortgage. New F-150s sell for 101k. That is more than my house on 1.3 acres.

@@shadowofchaos8932wait....your house 3x'd and its still not worth a brand new F-150 ? Where do you live? My house is worth 9 F-150s and its on .2 acres, it does over look the Florida Bay in one of the nicest and warmest areas in Florida, but still i couldn't build a 500sq ft box for 100k down here. I also will tell y'all, just because a new F-150 is a 100k doesn't mean you have to buy it. Buy a 2010, a 2015, even a 2020 and you will be just as happy. I drive a 2015 Chrysler 300 i paid 14k cash for 4 years ago. I love it, it looks identical to the new one and its dependable. @@shadowofchaos8932 It is getting quite ridiculous. I am glad all my stuff is paid for and glad all my vehicles were built to last a lifetime because I will never buy another vehicle.
All of these services that want to charge you interest and lend to you are there to take advantage of you and you are not responsible for having used their services.
That must be why they need people to pay their student debt off.

Throwing good money after bad is all Joe Bidens done since he's been president.
American economy sucks
Pay yourself the interest and never owe anyone.
How come you guys still havent announced the airman who set himself on fire?
So the answer is maybe. Those teens whose parents or family were hit by the 2008ish crash in the USA. In theory don't want that to happen to themselves.
Yep, spend money you don't have for stuff you don't need. Totally irresponsible.
$3 trillion to Ukraine 😳🤳
That’s because we’ll starve otherwise. We have no expendable income
So responsible they handed off there college debt to the people who already paid there's off
I use it…it’s better than using a credit card.
That guy has vested interest in this... So his opinion is to be taken foe what it is
Hey CNN...why aren't you covering the *female Muslim Church shooter* ?
The one time Trump didn't lie was during a cnn interview on March 21, 2004. "The economy does better under the Democrats than the Republicans." --Trump 😂😅😅
Let's see how strong you nato actually feel right now.
Over 3 billion lost in pig butchering in 2023. Doesn’t sound responsible.
Conumer debt is at an all time high. Credit card debt exceeds 1 trillion dollars now. And even with interest rates at an all time high, people are still spending money they dont have, while neglecting sinple things like an emergency fund. This segment was essentially a paid add for Affirm and its bullshit.
