I feel like the developers are at the stage of the relationship where they just put out the bare minimum of obligations because they know the breakup is coming.

This could've been a simple fun arcade styled mode for the base game. You could even style it like the beat the streak mode from 2k14. The difficulty gradually goes up through the towers. And the final match all the stops are pulled. It's further difficult, but the ai can have different abilities or special moves to make it unique. Hell if you wanna have a further gaming history quirk, have whatever wrestler you play as have different text scroll endings like MK. I feel on it's own though as dlc still doesn't seem to have the full sizzle. Which overall seems to be the problem with this game.

To quote a song: "I exploit you, still you love me"

At this point I think it’s safe to say that wrestling games in general now are on life support if even Yukes fumbled

AEW Fight Forever is the first game I’ve ever reached out to PlayStation to request a refund (was denied). I don’t care how much they improve the next game, I will no longer spend money on an AEW game again.

This is why I never considered buying AEW Fight Forever. the developers refused to listen to exactly what the fan base wants, added recycled rewards and raised prices and it’s certainly not a recipe for success.

The devs did listen to what the fans wanted, but the fan turned "developer" in Kenny Omega, probably overuled that. This game could and should have been the second coming of No Mercy, but it was shit in a box.

Thanks for the clarification on the storm is coming I'm hoping that the 37 new moves or movesets is actually movesets because that would be awesome if they were able to add 37 new movesets to the game but I also think it's moves I think they had a typo but I could be wrong

When they said they'd update the game I didn't think we'd be getting charged extra each time. I bought this game in good faith thinking it was an investment. I feel slighted, and I'm trying to put it nicely

I feel like more people don’t like AEW the company anymore since this game came out.

You forgot a very important piece of information about the difficulties in this mode. The difficulty doesnt determine how easy or hard it is to win matches, the difficulty of beat the elite mode only, and i mean ONLY, determines how many retries you get. If you check your settings and you have difficulty set to easy, regardless of whether you select elite difficulty on BTE, the actual gameplay will be in easy difficulty. So you can, in fact, win everything in easy difficulty. Thats a joke!

If you haven't purchased Fight Forever yet, here is my advice: When they finish releasing all the DLC for the game and you see the game and all the DLC on the PlayStation / XBox / Steam store for £20, it is worth buying! But the game itself is not good enough and doesnt have enough content to justify paying more than £15 for and I added the £5 for whatever DLC content they put out, because a lot of it so far is stuff that should have already been in the game from the start. Anything more than £20 for the game and all DLC they put out is too much. You will literally play it for a few hours and then never feel like playing it again. If you played the TNA game, it is very much like that. Not the worst wrestling game ever made but just not up to a standard where we would want to keep playing it.

Anyone reading after reading his comment, DO NOT BUY THE GAME !!! This is an incomplete game. Their live service plan is a scam ! They’re basically charging you DLC’s to help them finish the game. This is just wrong on so many levels. All they care is about stealing from their core fanbase. Don’t waste your money to anyone almost fooled into buying this incomplete game

Well, to be fair, this season does come with at least one new game mode. Problem is it’s just the same as randomly selecting opponents in exhibition. So basically the same as what we’ve already been doing after finishing RTE all these months later. So no, it’s nothing to be excited about.

Game should have been released for $20. Build up good faith with the AEW audience and potentially gamers in general. Kenny Omega supposedly being involved had me thinking this game would be something that it's clearly not.

We got used to 2k putting out bad glitchy games for so many years that in our excitement for THQ making a comeback we forgot THQ hasn't made a good game in over a decade.

I think the beat the elite mode reminds me of no mercy. Don't forget no mercy had towers and you unlocked things like takers mask. I know wrestling.

the main issue with the Game is the Lack of Content. and they keep just adding tiny bits of stuff that's pretty Expensive.

They need more wrestlers in their dlcs. And a update that adds more moves.

I haven’t played this game at all. Does it even have in-match commentary? Or just during intros?

@@Methazar the only thing I could say the 1st did better was the soundtrack… and also have dmx lol… not sure why he wasn’t there but I know he was like the most favorite rapper out the bunch in the game. But other than that i couldn’t agree more. A great sequel & the CAW did help us make the rappers we wish were in the game

I wouldn't be surprised if part of the reason this is so lackluster is needing to pull developers to put together their second phone game.

I bought the Elite edition of the game, but there’s no way I’m buying any of this DLC unless it’s like $10 for all the season 2 stuff. $25 is too much for this little content, especially when The Acclaimed should’ve been in the game from the start and the updated arena should be free. It’s just disappointing because there are things that I like about Fight Forever, but it also needs some serious work. I honestly think they’d be better off making a new game due to all the stuff they need to fix and people that need added to the game.

my biggest issue with Beat The Elite isn't even the lack of rewards... it's just how it's barely even a mode. the UI is so basic, just ten cards with faces on them and you go from one to the next. and there's no connective tissue. it's just ten normal matches, completely disconnected. you went into One on One > Normal > and then just hit random for your opponent ten times. that's not a new mode. if they added in a function where your health doesn't regenerate and maybe you have a limited number of heals, or power ups, and you have to strategize when and where you use them, that's at least SOMETHING.

I can’t remember the last time I was genuinely happy I didn’t buy a game… that is until I hear about AEW Fight Forever. I was wildly tempted several times to buy the game when it came out, when it went on sale, when I literally had nothing else I was in the mood to play. The more I hear about this game the happier I am that I didn’t waste my money on this garbage. AEW needs to either do a COMPLETE overhaul if they ever do another game or they need to just never make another game again

AEW looked at 2k20, battlegrounds and said how can we be worst than both those games… and you guys actually achieved it. Congrats AEW😅😅

I wouldn't say Beat The Elite has no tag matches because of a lack of tag teams. I think it's two specific things: 1) Tag matches in the game do _not_ play very well, have not since day one. 2) It would require more than the absolute minimum amount of effort, time, and money, and between AEW, THQ Nordic, and Yuke's, they're either not willing, or not able, to put in more than the minimum. I can't, in good faith, suggest it's anything more than that, and this is coming from someone who got 100% of the achievements within the first week of the game being released, and logged over 70 hours of playtime in the first month, and finally shelving(well, uninstalling) the game just before the 90 hour mark, once the Hookhausen DLC dropped. This is coming from someone who gave the game, the devs, the community, the global CM that oozed toxic positivity while attempting(and failing) to deflect any questions or statements or, even worse, trying to put words in people's mouths, chance after chance after chance. At the end of the day, it felt like all of the above were saying, "Support the game, give us money and we'll deliver," when that is *NOT* my duty. I'm a *customer buying a product,* not a *donor giving to charity,* nor *an investor funding a project.* When I'm buying a product from a business, that business is obligated to create a product the customer finds worth the cost _before the customer gives the business any money._ Everyone at AEW Games, THQ Nordic, and Yuke's is fully aware of this, but there's absolutely zero transparency or honesty about this, and legitimate criticism is completely ignored when it comes with even a slightly sour attitude. tl;dr: THQ Nordic, AEW Games, and Yuke's are full of it, and are either unwilling or incapable of selling this game as a product, rather they're expecting the customer to fund its development as though they were investors, and in any other place and time in history, that would be considered complete idiocy at best, and a complete scam at worst.

Man it’s crazy to think that Yukes is fumbling this game after all of their experience making bangers smfh new age gaming is dying when it comes to quality and longevity.

The bigger issue with this game is the execution of this model has been horrible. Conceived as a base game with expansions vs buying a new game every year was good but then you don't charge a AAA price for your base game or any of your expansions. By design, you are selling a bare bones game and 90% of the negative reviews are they overcharged. Problem is they had to. They invested heavily in making a new engine from scratch and needed to recoup some of that investment, messing with their long-term vision for the game. And it tappered off so they haven't fully recovered that initial investment so every DLC now is priced badly imho That's what happens when you put a dude in charge that play videogames vs a dude who actually makes them

Yeah for me I love fight forever and I do think that the game has a really solid foundation but this mode does not look like something I'm interested in and I wanted a single player mode that like had replay value because I think that's what fight forever needs is more modes with replay value but this just isn't it I really hope for season 3 they can salvage this game and have some replay value or a reason just to come back.

There isn't enough meat on that bone for those prices, sorry. There isn't enough. AEW Fight Forever is, at present, and if this is the trajectory, dead. I might feel different if there was more base game, and these were more value added. But this feels more like we are being asked to pay for them to flesh out and finish the game we all, regrettably at this point, already bought. I don't know if the devs are greedy, creatively bankrupt, or untalented, but there is no way this little is worth what is being asked.

So the mode is just matches against random opponents? Hell, the few people still playing the game were already doing that because that’s all that’s left to do after RTE. Only difference is a member of the Elite being the 10th opponent. And no, cosmetics are NOT worth it because you can barely do anything with that creation suite. We just want a sandbox mode of some type. Or GM mode. I’ll even settle for Create A PPV.

Every time they release 'content' (if can call it that), makes me more happy i didn't drop money on this game that is barely worth the $20 id be willing to pay for this xbox 360 arcade esque lever game.

I don't think i can justify buying a mediocre arcade ladder mode. Wcw vs nwo had a great version of this, you would generally unlock a wrestler after beating it. If they wanted to go this route, why not make it based upon the characters to make sense and unlock all this cool stuff on the way

I got this game on sale and still feel like I overpaid smh paying more for a little bit of extra content with no patches to improve gameplay is insane also very disappointing that have to play online to do stadium stampede

So glad i gave this game a miss.
