h, and then they basically bullied the guy into working for them via copywrite threats, moved all his movies off his channel and onto their website nobody goes to, then re-edited them all to make them look and sound terrible. And we haven't seen any work out of him since. Which really sucks because I'd love to see what he planned for next if they had just left them alone.

lol the guy who made astartes works for GW. because they hired him... they tried to hire other fan animators like louis sparks and SODAZ but the "youtube community" literally bullied both of them into quitting making animations. It was the fans that killed fan animations, GW tried to expand them. You can literally read SODAZ community tab to confirm it was harassment from "fans" who made him want to quit.

Like, you'd sound insane if there wasn't lore to back it up and even then alot of it sounds like a bad meth experience during Halloween. Imagine trying to explain the scale of the crusade and explaining why there aren't more aliens was because the Space marines legions purged the galaxy, the conquest of a galaxy and the unthinkable scale of death and destruction that the second empire of humanity WAS the apocalypse, judgement day for anything that was not human or refused to bend the knee.

Rewatch it several times. There’s hundreds of amazing details in each scene. One of my favorite details is during the suppression scene where the Astartes open up with full auto against the psykers from above. You can see the recoil of the guns and how the soldiers have to use two hands to pin their massive weapons to the railing just to keep the insane recoil under control. And those are genetically-enhanced super-soldiers encased in heavy, servo-augmented power armor! They can rip a normal human in half with almost no effort! In that scene you can also see for a split second how the triggers on each bolter (the guns they use) has a double-action safety. They pull back once, then pull a little further to fully engage the firing mechanism. It’s all subtle stuff, but so, so cool. He also completely skipped the part where the crew of the ship set up an ambush in a tight corridor with a semi-automatic anti-material rifle against the Astartes.

Just a quick explanation for people new to Warhammer 40k. The big guys in armor are Adeptus Astartes AKA Space Marines. They are heavily genetically and cybernetically enhanced super soldiers in power armor. Think Captain America wearing slightly less powerful Ironman armor and you'd be pretty close. They are attacking a Chaos spacecraft- Chaos are the evil demon worshipping bad guys, one group of them anyway. The ships are huge- the smallest ship in a fleet is about the size of a Star Destroyer from Star Wars. The Space Marines are being launched in a boarding torpedo fired into the enemy ship- think drill tipped ICBM but with space Marines in the warhead instead a nuclear bomb. The humans are all chaos worshippers who have rebelled again the Empire humanity largely belongs to. So the Empire fires one torpedo full of one squad of space Marines to take out the whole ship- which is about three kilometers long with a crew of about 20k, and that would be considered overkill. The space Marines are there to capture the alien/chaos artifact and bring it back and annihilate anything in their way. Their guns- known as bolters- shoot small high explosive rockets know as bolts. They explode after they enter a person's body, making them extremely deadly. The two guys with the fancy masks and spinal extensions are psykers- basically sorcerer's or psychics that have immense power but are prone to summoning demons every time they use their powers. On the other ship, this guy in the robe with the big 'I" and skull logo is an Inquisitor. He's one of the highest ranking officials in the Empire and is the guy calling the shots directing the Marines on this mission. He's also a psyker- usually a far more disciplined and controlled one- and is using a Chaos artifact to communicate with the artifact on the other ship. The space marine in the fancy cape is the Captain of that company of space Marines. He sees the inquisitor losing control and takes him out as any good soldier of the Imperium would do. The artifact on the other ship ends up absorbing the Marines sent to capture it and drags them into the Warp- think of it as Hell and you won't be wrong. Hopefully chapter 2 of this series will explain things a bit more, but that's a quick and dirty explanation of what you were watching.

The part you rewatched where the guy gets punched and then shot 4 times on the ground by the two space marines with white helmets, I don't think I can fully explain just how dead that dude is now or how absolutely necessary that was, just the punch alone would have caved that dudes head in let alone the 4 bolter rounds put into him after that

Space marines are basically genetically enhanced super soldiers with bionic enhancements too. So they're half genetic freak and half cyborg. They are the top elite force for the Empire (humans). Some infighting and betrayal happened with some factions that joined Chaos though in the Horus Heresy.

TBH Take your time diving into 40K. It's large, has had literal decades and dozens of writers for it, and has had major shifts in tone during its time being written. TBH it's intimidating even for those who are familiar with the setting sometimes. There's also a lot of 'well, ackually' that gets flung around but if you dive into it just remember, the only thing consistent about 40K is it's inconsistency. Everything is canon, not everything is _true_ .

kinda wierd that the best stuff in the 40k universe comes from fan creations, third partys or is basically ancient lore at this point yet games workshop either buys them out or outright kills whole projects without second thought, almost feels like one or a few of the decision makers want this franchise to die

It's a Lore channel on KZread but has a comedic nature to it to make the telling of 40ks lore more digestible to people who don't know or are looking to learn more about it. Astartes are made through surgery, training and combat experience. Training and Combat experience they gain before coming a full battle-brother (astartes), the surgery gives them 19 new organs (21 if they are the Primaris kind of spacemarines), and the also get implanted with gene-seed from one of the 9 primarchs that remained loyal. The gene-seed alters both appearance and behavior to be more of that of the primarch. 9:58 there is alot of occult stuff in warhammer 40k, or atleast what we consider to be occult. There exist demons (daemons) definitively, there exist ''gods'' or entities with the power of gods. 10:10 so i believe the reason why his right to life was revoked, was becuase he was getting possesed by the orb, so to make sure no further harm befalls anyone else on board he was perminantly fired from life.
