Ning Ning was part of smrookies so that was enough for people to get really attached to the group especially those that’s been waiting for her to debut and Karina’s popularity as a trainee helped too. It’s the same situation with NCT. Majority of Nct were part of smrookies so they had a decent following before they debuted. Though this is their first variety show, they’ve done other things as well like hello82 and are active on tiktok. They have A LOT of behind the scenes videos on their KZread account from black mamba era to next level era so people also got to know them that way before their first comeback. I really love the girls, their personalities, their concept, and I like their songs. It’s really as simple as that. Also, Giselle is half Korean and half Japanese though her Korean is a bit rusty but Ning is more fluent than her because she’s been speaking it longer.

Think of it like this. Why do people pre-order Iphone when you haven't seen/tested the actual product? Why is it so hyped up? Answer is because you have seen other good products from Apple. Same with Aespa, they are products of SM and I'm assuming you already know what it means. They did not just debut out of nowhere. Lee Soo-man have been planning on this concept for a very long time. Concept-wise, I think it is really cool if you didn't overreact like other people did saying "Oh no, AI will take over the world, it's scary bla bla...". On top of that, their pre-debut teasers are really fire, you can feel their potential and you know that this is a group that you can be proud of. I only stan SNSD before and they became legends, and now I feel the same way with Aespa. Anyway, Aespa has a youtube channel with their pre-debut teasers, behind the scenes, and etc. I suggest that you check those out and hopefully get your questions answered. 😊

Still 5mins in but just wanted to mention that even though Weekly Idol was their first variety show, they already have several videos on their YT channel, behind the scene stuff and a few mini series. They’re also VERY active on Bubble (paid messaging app) and are great with fan interaction. They basically share everything with their fans (like their spotify playlists, dorm stories, ningning randomly adopting a gecko, unreleased picture spam, etc.) Even Non fans have started tuning in to their bubble posts lol So yeah to sum it all up. Reason why they have lots of hard stans is because of their personalities, talent and music.

How i stanned Aespa 1. I got into them because i REALLY love the song Black Mamba its one of my favourite songs. Forever wasnt my favourite (it wasnt bad, just not my style of song usually) but i think it was needed to show there vocal ability. Next Level on first listen was not really my fav BUT it now has become one of my favourite girl group releases this year (dont know how that happened) 2. They have videos on their aespa youtube channel which is what made me STAN them i love there personalities i think they are a really fun group (there personalities kind of remind me of Blackpink, im a huge Blink so maybe thats why i connect) 3. I LOVE there whole concept as someone who is really into science fiction there storyline is really amazing, i highly recommend (if your interested) watching the 'aespa ep.1 black mumba - sm culture universe' it was amazing 👏 4. I got into aespa because of Giselle pre-debut video from her rapping. Then NingNing pre-debut video nailed it coz of her vocal ability. I'm not a hardcore stan but I appreciate their musical vibe and Black Mamba was a truly awesome debut song that it got me hooked on the 1st listen. They kept releasing good songs with SM stellar production as always so here I am still listening to their songs and buying their album.

I saw you look up 'aespa overrated' in your recent search but hopefully what people have mentioned here, you watching this and their other content (if you've looked them up) have changed your mind. Aespa has been a long anticipated girl group since SM hasn't debuted a girl group in 5 years. Ningning was also famously part of SM Rookies and already had a lot of exposure. Karina also showcased her dancing in some SM vids while still a trainee and was a famous ulzzang. Giselle is known to be one of only 8 people who have passed SM's incredibly difficult Saturday audition. They had a lot of promos for their debut and it blew up because their concept was so unique, it has never been done in kpop before. Lee Sooman was heavily involved in creating their concept. They also had predebut vids that showcased each girl's talents quite well (except Winter) so they amassed quite a huge following after. Winter also gained a lot of attention after debut because she was very skilled in both dancing and singing and was a mysterious member because her skills surprised people since they weren't shown in her predebut vid like the others. She was like a hidden trainee. Even only 3 weeks after debut, they allowed Winter to participate at the 2020 MAMA Awards in a tribute to BoA where she performed a BoA song on her own and gained attention for that then at the 2021 SMTOWN concert, she had another performance with Raiden. South Korea loves her vocal color (as proven by her cover of IU's Secret Garden that went viral) Each member is also an all-rounder, they're all skilled in dancing, rap and vocals which is interesting to a lot of people. Even the second song they released was unexpected and they just did it to show that all 4 members are really good vocalists. Their other content also made people fall for their personalities. They're also incredibly close and have a good relationship with each other so watching them is entertaining and endearing. The songs, while not everyone's cup of tea like you, are well-loved not just in South Korea but in other countries too. And now with the release of Savage and their first mini album, it shows that the hype was well-deserved but even without it, all of their past content was enough to show the amount of people drawn to them made sense. They're incredibly talented, have great stage presence, have a unique concept as a group that even has a storyline, they're all attractive and they have great personalities. Plus I think that while having more content before stanning is nice, it's also a special feeling knowing that you were there from the start and have watched them grow as artists. You feel prouder of them somehow.

I decided to hardcore stan them because of pre-debut Ningning and Karina. At first I was looking for groups to stan because my bias group were on hiatus for years. So I checked out sm rookies program and their performances and started staning them (Only ningning is part of sm rookies). I mean there is 15+ vocal performances of Ningning out even before debut, so it was easy to stan her because I loved her voice. We already knew about Ningning and Karina, way before their debut. Ningning was introduced as a SM trainee in 2016 + Karina was introduced in early 2019.

Yeah I felt that too Japan idols blends better sometimes. I love Ningning's visual the most. But she's still so baby, and sometimes feel a lil bit awkward. In terms of personality, I rly adore Karina's caring nature, and very senseful. Giselle and Winter have bubbly personality as well. OT4 forever ❤

Training periods really depend on companies and vary tremendously. I think Olivia Hye from Loona still has the shortest training period in history at just 1 day so it really depends on how much potential you have. The ones that have the least amount of training experience going into a group are expected to be able to pick up concepts and learn quickly from the other members and staff.

i stan them at first because of giselle's rap in her predebut and also her personality is so much fun and relatable also she said in her bubble that she used to have a stan tweet and she's lurking on twitter, she said she saw the barking's of my's lmao

they seem reserved bcs they're the type of people that only feel comfortable w those they are closed to. they're named as smth like the 'comedic idols' by the public from debut bcs they're very carefree in shows unlike other rookies. they're definitely chaotic especially w fans. giselle and ningning may seem quiet/nervous but their humor and personality are very gen z lmao as a stan, i don't think they have many hardcore stans. some of them might be considered hardcore bcs they're fans of ningning ever since smrookies. but compared to other groups their fandom is very small. they're loved by the general public a lot tho so it explains the views and their positions on charts. as me myself, i definitely love their music eventho there's only 3 so far.

i don't know much aobut aespa, but is SMrookies is a thing, same happens with NCT and red velvet, they are promoted even before debut for years, appearing in SMTown concerts and having predebut shows

Yeah I haven’t really vibed with any of their songs thus far but I do love the girls and I watch their content such as interviews and radio shows. I first saw NingNing became a meme on TikTok and that’s how I got introduced to them

i dont like the songs either except black mamba but watching their content they put out on youtube and everything i really like their attitudes and personalities its kinda simple explanation but i really like giselles sassy personality and winter and ningnings adorable baby selves and karina is just very extroverted around her members and also very confident so even though i dont like their music as much i like the girls same with blackpink

They're from one of the Big Three Companies, SMEnt. It's not gonna be a big company in the first place if they're debuting mediocre artists. So it's kinda like SM's brand, their talented artists and unique concepts. aespa's a highly anticipated group based on surveys conducted. Coz people knew that SM had many excellent female trainees before the group was formed so they had high expectations to them. There's this expectation that "every member must be really talented to be part of this FOUR-memb group" like there's gotta be no hole and they didn't disappoint in that part. And I think if you stan one group from SM, you end up liking the other groups too. It's funny but I think it's a thing when you're an SM stan.

Kira from Teenwolf is also Japanese/Korean in the show and Giselle is too They are a bit similar

they're concept intrigued me so much when they debuted w black mamba. i was thinking "they're gonna be really tough to beat. how can other groups compete with this concept?" i've learned who's who, but wasn't that interested in stanning. so at first it was just the concept, really. i don't really want to be into kpop anymore or stan new groups but for some weird reason, i started liking Ningning. it was not her voice nor her dancing. it's that short video clip of her laughing and just her overall personality. i think she's the stan attractor of the group. i ended up watching all their videos just coz i find her entertaining to watch and im starting to know the other girls as well.

the reason why i stan aespa even though i like their 3 songs but don't love them. 1) i like sm in general so i checked out their content on their channel and found their girls to be pretty, kind, and humble. The all have great personalities and are really great singers and dancers. They have a lot of potential but i just love the girls in general and waiting for more songs because i do like their songs but don't love them.
