Others Im not sure about it, but I can sure about NingNing already got into SM in 2016(the first quarter), at that time some nct members even WayV members didn't debut, don't know about Korean members but I think with Chinese members NingNing must know them( I said this only because I would like to see their interaction, but please male idols don't be so childish and if NingNing knows them I just hope that the fans don't throw hate on NingNing! I hope this stays as a promo thing that SM will continue doing beyond Don’t Call Me! :) As a company with several active groups under their belt, I wonder why SM didn’t do this sooner (but better late than never haha), because it really helps the fellow SMTOWN artists promote each other’s releases and foster that “inter-SM artists” camaraderie that was really common between their older groups (and was shown in variety shows/videos a lot) but isn’t as evident in their more recent groups. It also takes advantage of using the collective power of SMTOWN to promote each release rather than only relying on that particular artists’ fandom for support and promotions. If you’ve been keeping up with SM artists in Kpop for a long time, you’ve probably noticed that the folks from groups between 2003-2009 were all really chummy with each other (especially between the guys and girls, which I miss) and had interactions that were more than just the “awkward senior-junior talking” - like to the point where (in non-formal settings) as a testament to their closeness and comfort with each other you’d see them frequently call each other by name or by more closer terms like “hyung, oppa, unni, nuna, dongsaeng” rather than only by more polite honorifics like “sunbae-nim”, but you don’t see this as frequently (or at all) with the groups afterwards - probably the larger age and generation difference with less trainee period overlaps contributes to that. Like, especially if you’ve watched the older variety shows (like pre-2010) you’ve probably seen nearly every member of TVXQ, SuJu, SNSD, SHINee, f(x) talk and even goof around beyond the senior-junior stuff. So this makes me feel a little sad for their newer groups, like NCT and Aespa (even slightly Exo and RV to some degree) because they seem less intertwined with not just the older SM artists but with the fellow newer ones too, and as a result any interactions between them are awkward since they haven’t had the chance to get to know each other well due to limited opportunities. I’m sure the newer artists would like the guidance and benefit from bonding more with their more experienced seniors too, much like how all the older groups had seniors who looked after and got close to them as well.

I think because the gap are just too big. Like tvxq-suju-snsd-shinee-fx all debuted in almost around the same (6 years from tvxq to fx) time means that most of them already know each other since trainee.. meanwhile it takes 6 years for aespa to debut after RV..
