Many years ago I fell hard for the love of my life, we outgrew each other it was sad, I always blamed myself, so many fights over stupid things we just couldn't get anything right one night she walked away when I hear this song even today 2022 I get that lump in my throat, It was my fault, in 2019 I got a message from an old friend that she had passed away she had a heart attack when they cleaned out her belongings in her nightstand they found an old photo of her and I at the fair, it was taken so many years ago....this year will be the last time I come back to this song, it's just too much pain for me.

That solo is honestly one of the best rock ballad solos of all time

I was 32 and still remember hearing them for the first time when Dream On was rereleased in '76. A huge breath of fresh air from the disco s**t that was still in full go mode. Thankfully by that time FM radio had caught on and was playing album cuts from true rock bands.

I won tickets on a morning radio talk show. I am 87. My daughter and I saw Steven’s last Vegas show. I fell in love with Aerosmith when my kids were teenagers. Rock guitar fascinates me. It’s auditory embroidery.

Reminds of my younger days. I’m Sooo happy I got albums like this one. My son cares for them now with a fantastic turn table and very expensive needles. He’s keeping it all alive.

This is why I never get into a bar fight without an accordion.

a song for the broken hearted.. i was 15 in 1990 (got dumped by my high school gf ) when i first heard this, 44 in 2019 (recently divorced).. still broken hearted and this song is all what it takes to calm my heart forever

The video was shot at the Longhorn Ballroom in Dallas Texas. My dad played for Dewey Groom the owner of the place. I got ties there so it's pretty cool.

Most people, including Aerosmith's biggest fans, have no idea what a complete and true masterpiece this song track is. It may take listening to 1000 times, but once you see the inner-workings of "What it Takes," you have this "holy shit" moment when you realize the magnitude of its complexity. Desmond Child together with Joe Perry and Steven Tyler created this magic and I literally feel sad for anyone who hasn't a clue as to what I'm going on about here because it means they have never REALLY heard this song for what it is -- A true musical masterpiece.😎

For me this was the one that was the masterpiece of their comeback in every way. It's was freaking nailed lyrically and the arrangement was perfect for Steven to show that he was in an elite vocal class and lastly it showcased the unique use of instruments that set Aerosmith apart from the pack. They finally found a style a sound that allowed Steven Tyler to showcase his amazing vocals like only a very few aka Freddy Mercury, could sing. It was a case of this is my group I'm the centerpiece I want to let it shine. They let him loose and the we all were lucky enough to get to experience it. So amazing such a talent.

Definitely written by someone who has had their heart broken. I can't think of another heartbreak song with better lyrics. "Tell me that your body doesn't miss my touch. Tell me that my loving didn't mean that much. Tell me you ain't dying when you're crying for me." Just perfectly sums up the pain of loss.

I was literally laughing out loud. You kno wwhat's weird. I love this song, but never saw the vid, ... that I can recall, but my own vid inside my head was a lot like this. Just a hot girl and guy singing rather than the band there. Slow motion bar fight. They have the ol' couple that have a different kind of what it takes that I do so wish I had. Love this song guys! This is a great song.

Aerosmith was my very first concert. I always loved their music but after seeing them live I became a super fan for life. They’re the real deal. Amazing vocals, musicians and song writers. Just iconic legends who have inspired so many people. 🔥❤️😍

Same! First concert ever. I think it was 1990 during the Pump tour. Always been a fan ever since. Joey Kramer was the reason I started playing drums-inspiring for an impressionable 12 yr old. My room was adorned with Aerosmith posters. Steve and Joe were-are-one of the coolest mofos to ever grace a stage!

My first concert too 1976 Philadelphia pa opened with The JAWS theme,broke into back in the saddle, Steve Tyler came flying over Joe Kramers drum kit in mid air , landed on stage below Kramers drums Screaming "I'm Baccccccc kkkk! I've never seen anything like it at a show ,he was like 12 ft in the Air ,I was 16 Jaws opening theme was goosebumps Rick derringer was with them what a show for 20$ life was Good 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅

Love the acrobats of Steven's voice.

My dad loved this song and remember him telling me that's Joe Perry's daughter in the video...he died from Cirrhosis 7-7-2018... he taught me so much about music and about truly appreciating every instrument and step of the process. Now I try to do the same for my daughter and hope to still be around when the time comes for her to appreciate it. Xoxox...
