It got to be some sorts of a record, i mean most high level rocker vocalists start to get a degraded voice in they're 50`s. Not Steven even at 75, he is a freak of nature :)

You are not kidding, I am sixty and without hydrocodone in the morning, I can't take my beloved little girls, my dogs outside, let alone walk up and down a stage for two plus hours a night at sixty, let alone, if I am still walking by seventy five. Bow out now while you still have your voice and don't ruin it completely, you have nothing to be ashamed of and we are all behind you and completely understand and wish you well. What other celebrities do you folks know of who take hours to stop in a store and talk to the fans about fishing and everyday topics, let alone even stop to sign an autograph? He did the same thing in a Home Depot a few years back, got on the page because no one was in the department, started singing one of his songs, everyone said, that sounds like Steven Tyler, and people came running. Just a down to earth, funny, normal guy. Not a Hollywood snob. We should all take a lesson from him. I do, I can't walk in the morning because of severe degenerative disc disease and neurological problems, but everywhere I go, people love me because I am honest, sincere and friendly. That gives you a natural energy level that you can't believe or understand, but I do, when rock stars say, the music and the fans give them an incredible energy level. That, along with my meds and pain meds, that is,lol

To answer your question, he ruptured a vocal chord, that was thought to be able to heal, but now he may need surgery. It's probably better he doesn't, so if, who knows, the band or he wants to make a record or appearance, he will be healed enough to do a show here and there, but constantly screaming out the lyrics day after day, would definitely do irreparable damage, and I myself, want to hear him, hopefully scream out a high note again.

@StevenTyler887 I would love to go to one, but we have an RV and stay for 3 months in winter and summer. Have loved your music since you started. Was good friends with Bill Graham the promoter so got back stage a lot of places. Hells Angel's were some times security and knew a lot of them so they let me back stage. I was in law enforcement training so Bill always had someone watch me because if someone approached that didn't seem right I laid them out. He didn't want me to hurt anyone. He also didn't want me to continue singing and had me see first hand what it was like to be in that field. Love all of your music as it makes me happy and feel good. I can even sound like you and I'm 73. You can never go wrong with what you do and your music takes my breath away especially when I saw you in person. Stay sexy as I know that won't change. Love you

You probably didn't reply as you saw me as law enforcement but parents didn't give me acceptance letter as was moving to Northern California from Central California with boyfriend. I did turn down US Marshall as had to travel and had young son. I think I said to much about myself but I still love you and your music. I have gone through bad times and so have you. You can make it through as you have in the past. I support you and all you do. Love you

@StevenTyler887 I have heard that you can't talk. My father was a doctor and was upset that I didn't follow as I helped him when he had to stop for accidents. I got labeled little doc and stayed with me for long time. Even helped Wavy Gravey in his tent at concerts. We can talk this way. First let me say that smoking will make the healing process longer. I know it is hard because I smoke when I'm bored. I was in an accident in 2006 and my arm is still painful, I take tramadol, but am careful as like a clear head. Please please listen to your doctor as want you well. I really hope you do heal. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Your music makes me happy and the thought of you not doing what you love makes me feel sad. Stay safe. Friends that were with me back stage were jealous as they could tell I was over the moon about you. Love you and stay healthy!
