Aero Commander 500B - TAKE OFF AND LANDING
The Aero Commander family is a version of the Aero Commander and turboprop engines, renamed the Aero Commander in 1950 and a Rockwell International5 series in 1950 and 1965. Initial production was the seven-seat, 320 km/h Aero Commander 520. An improved version, the 500S, manufactured after 1967, is known as the Shrike Commander. Larger variants are known by various model names and designations, ranging up to 330 mph, 11-seat, Model 695B / Jetprop 1000B turboprop.

Great video, short and to the point. A lot of folks don’t realize that a Commander was used as AirForce1 by a Pres. Eisenhower from 1955-1960.

The very first model was flown to DC,WITH 1 PROP IN A CRATE,looking for the military sales,but IKE was impressed,and he was a pilot,that’s how 1 became ikesPERSONAL PRIVATE PLAVE,VIRTUAL AF1, the rest is history ! It still exists,and was recently refurbished,,looking great ! Designer,was TER SMITH,who also designed the AEROSTAR,,later owned by PIPER, 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
