Bradenton Florida surrounded by waterways with the Manatee River on its northern border and the Gulf of Mexico to the east. It was named after Joseph Braden whose property was a refuge for early settlers during the Seminole Indian Attacks. It was incorporated as Bradentown in 1903. We drive down Old Main Street at 2:36 which was the location of Bradentown. The current city of Bradenton was formed in 1943 as the merger of Manatee City & Bradentown.
We feature the new and growing Riverwalk, a picturesque riverside park for strolling and enjoying the sights with playground, benches, amphitheatre, and a skatepark 3:50.
Bradenton has several good wedding venues which we feature on this video. Pier 22 and the Twin Dolphin Marina (1:00). Pier 22 built 1928 in honor of 21 men from Manatee County who died in World War 1. A couple of popular wedding venues are technically in Palmetto, but we include them in this video of Bradenton being it is just over the Manatee River. They are the Palmetto Bed & Breakfast at 3:47 operated and owned by some of the nicest people you'll meet, Wim & Mieke. We have shoot several weddings there which you can see in the cards on the video. Also in Palmetto is the Riverhouse Reef & Grill 3:24, a very popular restaurant which sits on the edge of the pier at the marina.
The well known sports Academy, IMG Academy 4:17 in its 40 years of existence has helped trained many famous athletes. It also has a poplular Golf Club & wedding venue.
The South Florida Museum 2:57, has a nice courtyard for weddings with the Hampton Inn & Suites 2:50 right across the streets makes it convenient for out of town guests. The South Florida Museum has the Bishop Planetarium Theater, the region's premier astronomy education facility as well as a multimedia theater for films.
A great site if you are along the Riverwalk Area around sunset is the CSX Railroad Bridge as you can usually catch a CSX train crossing the Manatee River Drawbridge.

I lived in Bradenton Florida for 2 years
That shot of Manatee Ave. was certainly not at 7:30 am. Morning rush traffic can be brutal.
You missed so much. The Village of the Arts and Motorworks, Tropicana, Mixon's, Riverwalk is so much more than just the Amphitheater. The Museum is top quality housing the Historical Museum, The Planetarium, and the Manatee Marine Exhibit, previously home to our beloved Snooty. Farmer's Market on Saturday Mornings on Main. Get Down, Downtown street festivals, The Desoto Heritage Parade, and some really fantastic estuaries and parks for kayaking, canoeing, and other water sports. Tarpon Point with Cady's, and totally unique restaurants throughout the city: Ortegia, Arte Cafe, Gio's, Mattison's, Lucky Frog, and the Clam Factory just to name a few of our original local dining options.

Some of the best Mexican food in the area can be found in Palmetto. There are a slew of tomato farms and citrus farms in the area and they employ a whole bunch of Mexicans. El Molcajetes east of Palmetto is the best of the bunch.

The river isn't quite that wide there. I swam across it in the late 90s.
I would like to fly drone here, but am always afraid to go too high due to the heliport at the Bradenton Hospital and SRQ air traffic. Do you have to contact the airport and register a flight plan to do shots of the Green Bridge and the Train Bridge as well as Bradenton/Palmetto? Please let me know...tx (GREAT VID)

no this area is not in a restricted zone, you just have to be carefule around the heliports. Further south in Bradenton is a restricted zone, however the FAA has started automated authorization which is great, you can usually get immediate approval.

It is way out east. Twenty miles east of the I75, and some KZread guy just bought the race car track to put in some techie racing car amusement park right behind the drag strip. It will be a draw. .
I had such a terrible incident happen to me in Bradenton! My son who was fueled by his German wife made me leave their home just days ago. It was pouring rain and thundering like CRAZY! I suppose it was good since their neighbors would all be inside? They live in a gated community that has really changed them! It's a long story with a harsh ending. My phone would not work because my youngest grandson who has downs syndrome put it in the pool on the deep end. I had no idea where I was or how I could get to Tampa for my flight? Thank God my sister was able to find me and had to pick me up! He contacted my son to ask if he was taking me to the airport, Lance told him I'm a big girl! It's very hard on me walking so much and at dark because I'm physically disabled AND my daughter died a month prior! He actually said I was fragile because of the way I was handling my daughter's death!

We film for travel purposes so its the touristy areas that we are going to focus on, although will be doing a new video of Bradenton within next couple years so probably will cover alittle more
