  • @UniqueAerialists

    @UniqueAerialists

    5 жыл бұрын

    Yes it's so easy for the silks to bounce out of the back of your knees! This usually happens if you tuck your hips back or bring your knees slightly forward when you bend them. Try to keep a straight line from your shoulders, through your hips to your knees, make sure you bend at your knees and not your hips. Hope that makes sense!

    Hey. I am looking to get into doing aerial silks and stuff like that. I am thinking about just getting one of the aerial hammock things and just do that for a while. I also want to learn how to do stuff with the silks and not the hammock thing. My only problem is I want to save money and not buy a bunch of stuff that I don't really need. Can I just get the silks and tie a knot in them and use it as one of the hammock things or would that not work? To me they seem like the same if you just tie a knot. Please let me know.

  • @UniqueAerialists

    Hi using a hammock vs using silks with a knot tied definitely feels different, but you can do a lot of hammock moves on the silks using a knot :)

    can my silks be too short? every time i try to do these at my home, then the silk tightens around my leg and it’s too painful to do.

  • @UniqueAerialists

    @UniqueAerialists

    4 жыл бұрын

    If your silks are too short in that you're having to really squash yourself to fit at the top of the drop then yes this could make them tighter. If that's not the case, then this is usually caused by not pulling up enough. The full tutorials for some of these drops are on academy.uniqueaerialists.com/ :)

    Also another question - do you have any suggestions about how to be more “neat” during these drops? Sometimes my legs fly, sometimes the silk tails have flown onto my face during the drops (that is what I mean).

  • @UniqueAerialists

    @UniqueAerialists

    3 жыл бұрын

    Ouch! The silks are tight so some bruising when you're first learning it is normal, to reduce the bruising make sure your hands are high enough on the poles then really pull up using your arms, straighten your legs and push your legs down. Hope that helps! The in depth tutorial for the straddle drop including the common mistakes and how to avoid them is on academy.uniqueaerialists.com :)

    I'm not sure what a spotter is I will not be able to have a trainer %100 of the time so I was wondering what a spotter is Is it just someone to watch you incase something goes wrong And/or could it just be my mum????

  • @UniqueAerialists

    @UniqueAerialists

    6 жыл бұрын

    Hi yes a spotter is someone to assist you while you're training, they can guide you into and out of moves and be ready to help you if something goes wrong. Ideally it should be someone that knows what they are doing as they could get hit/kicked if they're in the wrong place, or they could not realise you need them to hold you if you're struggling or hold you too much :) I hope that explains it!
