Aegis VII's Death Toll | The Story Before Dead Space
Ойындар
I promise my hands aren't this shaky in real life.
For clarity's sake, this video is NOT about the events of the first Dead Space game, but instead what happens shortly before Isaac Clarke's arrival on the USG Ishimura. These events are mostly told through 3 prequel stories, being Dead Space: Extraction, Dead Space: Downfall, and the comic series published in 2008.
Our goal is to estimate how many people died on Aegis VII between 2506 and 2508 while keeping track of any known survivors (and sprinkling in some lore here and there), so while the topic might be a little morbid, I hope you enjoy it nonetheless.
Timestamps:
0:00 - Intro
1:02 - Aegis VII and the USG Ishimura
2:28 - The CEC's Mining Colony (2506 A.D.)
3:42 - The Marker's Discovery (2508 A.D., Local Day 890)
5:48 - P-Sec, Unitology, and the Medlab (Day 913)
9:28 - Concern and Paranoia (Days 914-918)
12:52 - Extraction (Day 920)
23:10 - Captain Mathius's Orders (Day 920)
25:05 - Planet Crack (Day 925, 12:00)
32:16 - Recombination and the Dead Space (2214-2299 A.D.)
35:17 - Necromorph Outbreak (Day 925, 12:15)
42:12 - Last Resorts (Day 925, 12:45)
48:40 - The Last of Us (Day 925, 18:00)
49:31 - Final Message

I was going to comment something similar to this, but it looks like I'm too late, lol. Ur 100% right tho.
Neumann and Janssen being in another room of the P-Sec building checks out because you hear gunfire within P-Sec headquarters at the same time McNeill and Weller are just entering and Sam doesn't have a gun. Also the people in the big ore vessels would have made it if they flew outside the colony unloaded all the crap inside far away and then took off for space.

True but unfortunately panic took hold in the colonists by that time. The vast majority of the colony was already dead and most of the dead were already hunting down the survivors as necromorphs. Even if they made it out the Ishimura would of shot them down anyway and even then someone already reached the Ishimura with a infector and a necromorph on board which we know managed to start up the outbreak on the Ishimura. The colonists were doomed no matter what really.

Not only is the actual presentation of this video phenomenal, but I love how nonintrusive and subtle the memes and humor was, usually a lot of creators in this vein overdo it with the editing and the jokes but V-Limit struck a really great balance, would love to see more!
Holy shit, what an incredible piece of media. The effects, editing, writing, and coherence of narrative, this is beyond professional. This is artful storytelling in a video essay.

@@themanwithnoname1839What's wrong with Fallout and The Last of Us? I'm very very surprised by how they destroyed the NCR and am very very saddened by that I don't think they should have been able to make that kind of creative decision especially with something so key to the lore. I feel like that was Todd Howard's way of getting back at Obsidian and how successful and great New Vegas is and how mid fallout 3 was.
I'm really impressed by the editing work here. You manage to create a coherent timeline (plus add some good memes) and I hope that this doesn't get demonetised since I'd really like to see the other events in this style!

Thank you for this, I never got the chance to enjoy the Dead Space franchise like most gamers and this is a nice way to get someone like me to see its story in a really cool way
All the lore surrounding the first Dead Space game was so cool, especially the events of the Aegis VII colony. Great work and thank you for putting this together!
I am in love with the structure of this. The UI being the same as the game, the little hands wearing the suit. The ability to tell the story while also going over the point of the video, instead of just skimming over the story like most channels would. Bravo man this video is amazing!

This is the most structured, well planned, visual and explained Dead Space breakdown I have had the pleasure of watching. Hats off to you sir.

I still cant get over the fact that the uni high command actually freaking know whats going to happen and actually want it to occur. I just..so wild.
This was actually pretty good, you should do videos for the death tolls aboard the Ishimura and Titan Station if you ever get around to doing that.
What an INCREDIBLE video!!!! I was expecting a generic video with a death toll counter running through, but NO. This has the V-Limit touch very detailed, engrossing storytelling and fantastic editing. It is an honor to be subscribed to you!
Love the fact the devs snuck a Resident Evil reference into Extraction. Red Queen: You're all going to die down here.
Just came across this video and as a fan of the game its really cool to see all the material come together to fill out the narritive. Looking forward to your video on the Ishimura.
Ignoring how happy I am to have a nearly hour-long Dead Space video to watch, I LOVE how this video is made to look like the in-game holograms and UI. So delicious.
Even though I don't know much about Dead Space, this vid just got me to stick around till the end. Kudos to your storytelling and editing!

This video is so excellent in all aspects, great narration with not an overpowering voice. Keeping a constant and steady volume for narration. Great usage of gameplay and audio. Good pacing for script. I hope this is able to be shared to other folks interested in DS. Thank you for this
This is an awesome video. I really like how you wove together the animated comic, Downfall and Extraction into one cohesive story. That cruel irony that Bram and Marla could have joined Gabe and Lexine's group to escape if they had only waited instead of going to the main comm needle... The only part you missed was Natalia Dyshenov, who ventures out alone and throws herself into the marker crater, implied to be the hive mind's nest.

If you get in their shoes, this is such a tragedy, loosing that many people in a few days and a lot of these is because of panic, this is insane. By the way, amazing video, I'm a massive fan of Dead Space and this contextualize the before perfectly. The use of every medium is done beautifully. If you could do the Ishimura too, it would be so cool!

@shcdemolisher
4 ай бұрын
Troops would only make it worse, think zombies in close quarters. The more men you lose, the more numbers the enemy gains. But Nukes/glassing it? Yes! Then again this is a future where humanity was more or less trying to outrun it's resource extinction, has a nutjob religion, and a company that cares for profit over lives. All things that need to be assured won't ever happen, or if they do, they're tightly controlled or disbanded. Because the damage seen here in-universe even without the Markers, means a race forced to start over with untold billions dead.
This was fantastic, thank you for making this it is brilliantly put together
