Adventure Travel Brazil - The Transpantaneira Highway (Tim and Kelsey get lost Ep 112)

After our beautiful boat tour, we get hit with a storm which makes leaving Porto Jofre a bit interesting. We babysit some tourists in rental cars, brave some crazy bridges, and battle the mud…it’s a great adventure!

    10A Gauge fuse - crazy how many circuits hang off it inc. the windows. On 24V landcruisers it takes out the changeover relay when it blows meaning you can't start it. We learned the hard way.

    Another great video, that muddy road reminds me of the rice farms in Uruguay. Just curious, how your friends in the RR Classic finished their adventure in South America? I used ohave a Classic but with the underpowered 3.5 V8 engine.

    They've had an epic journey and got stuck in Honduras in a field for most of COVID. They are now in an airbnb, but still trying to make it north to the US. Check out Planet Overland on KZread and Instagram. Great people!

    Come on...all his races in Baja and professorship at the Expo's...Tim's a pro...let him drive...he'll get ya out. It's a tough decision to leave a vehicle behind to fend for themselves. The "good" people find it very hard to do and would rather spend more time making the voyage if it means helping someone out.

    While traversing that kind of mud, is it better to be open or locked on the diff locks? I didnt have diff locks on my LC Prado in Uganda so I never had the option, but I would think locking the transfer case would be a must.

  • @DirtSunrise

    @DirtSunrise

    We were always center locked, but never touched the front and rear diff. If it was so slick that any one tire got more spin than any other we'd turn the lock on that axle, but no need this time. If we'd locked front and rear it would have induced more spin
