Adventure Dad Wagon - 2019 3.6R Subaru Outback Walkaround
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Building a capable adventure rig isn’t always solid axles, huge tires, and big thirsty V8 engines. Sometimes it takes the finesse of an all-wheel-drive fully independent suspension flat-six powered five door wagon to get you where you need to go.
That’s where the Adventure Dad Wagon comes in. Built for family adventures around town or up in the mountains this 2019 Subaru Outback leaves nothing to chance. From LED lights to skid plates this modern day wagon would be just at home on the Oregon Trail as it would be a night on the town.

Outback done right! You made a great suv…incredible🏆. Enjoy those trails and challenges
Great video and thanks for sharing the specs and mods. It's a practical setup that isn't too overwhelming. Good balance between capability, economy, and comfort. Well done.

Glad you enjoyed it! The subarus are really starting to come into their own as viable "soft-roader/overland" rigs.
Sweet rig! Even better is the inspiration for its creation. Kids need the oudoors.

Yes it was!
Looks awesome Dad, but you need a winch with associated soft shackles, tree savers, pully rings, etc... in a bag on the roof rack.

Thanks for the comment! We think he's moved to a full-sized rig since this video.

He's a great guy!
I can appreciate the digital light panel but there’s just something about using traditional switches that just feels more appealing for me personally
Awesome ❤
Great !!!, Greating from Germany

Very nice. I wish you had shown how you routed cables through the firewall--that's pretty tricky with the 3.6R. I have seen a few examples of where they went through, but nobody actually shows the process.

Great video! where can I buy the bumper and the lights for my outback 2022
Please send links to the front grill and all led lights. That would be great along with any other links you can share
Just purchased my first Subaru. 2021 Touring XT. Looking to start with some small modifications. Have you had any experience with the dash trim kits? Thanks for the video!
What brand is that molle on both sides of the rear wagon, we’re you can put light stuff on
What is the clearance total after the lift? Car looks great! I have a Wilderness edition hopefully arriving within two weeks. I screen shot your car as inspo for how I'd like to modify it. 👍🏼
Can you please put a parts list in the description?
Great build! Would love to get your thoughts on the Wilderness Edition. I'm in Canada - the Onyx (Outdoor XT here) is being discontinued with the arrival of the Wilderness, making them very hard to find used. As a result I'm deciding between a Limited XT or the Wilderness. Obviously most of the driving I'll be doing is highway, but I'm in a rural area with a lot of dirt roads/trails and lots of snow in the winter. My take is the regular XT is more than enough capability, but the ruggedized interior and better roof rack on the Wilderness are enticing. The fuel economy suffers with the final drive ratio though, so that's the main point of decision for me. Would love to get your input.

Go with the gas mileage.
Great Subaru!! Any way you can make a list of the outside ad ons you did: lift, tires, wheels, bumper guard, and light, and what light control system you have?

Can you add links for the modifications?
That's what I want!!! Can't get into a truck because I'm in a wheelchair. How tall is the seat height from the floor outside?
What are the wheels size again 17x8?
No engine mods??
78" wide bars. No issues with hitting your head?
Looks great :) What offset are the wheels & what spacer did you use?

I have a Subaru Outback XT Touring. To me, it is a nice grocery getter. This guy's toy is totally in the opposite direction. I am not ever going there. :)

Same with all vehicles. Some people build them to go places off the beaten path. Others keep them stock and they never leave pavement. True of Jeeps, Toyotas, and Land Rovers not just Subarus.
I can see alot of busted heads on all that mess hanging off the top of the car. Other than that, nice ride.
Not really a rig you could take offroafing when it gets tough. Not 4wd little to no ground clearance, no low range and components are not strong enough. If you were to do like soft reading or if you have the skill sand driving thats about all it could do. In Australia we in the 4wding community get really annoyed when these kinds vechile try to follow true 4wds then expect us to help them out when they get stuck even when we tell them they will get stuck and they don't have any gear or rated recovery points. Bottom line if you want to go 4wding get a 4wd they're not the same as awd. It is a nice rig though would be really nice on the highway and gravel roads.

This is an overland channel, not a rock crawl channel. We like to feature a wide range of vehicles from AWD to 4x4 as well as vans. Each vehicle has its pros and cons, advantages and disadvantages, and it’s important to know their limits. No one is saying this thing will keep up with a built Jeep on the Rubicon Trail, but for the vast majority of the terrain we have here something like this will do fine.

Found the offroading snob. Literally didn't even try to hide it, either. Stock Subarus have gone places no other vehicle could, largely due to their awesome AWD systems. Any car can offroad if you have the moxie and the balls, any extra is support.

It's not about you. It's about the vehicle that you have, what you've done to it and where you go. We in Australia also believe that some with large 4WD's overcompensate because they have a small penis. It may be the case here.
That's on bad axx looking Outback, just purchased 2019 OB 3.6R, which was originally leased vehicle. please share, the LED fog light and front bumper grill guard, I'd like get it. Thanks
