Advancing early interventions for autism

Some therapies use play and other activities to reinforce skills that autistic children often find challenging. Trials show these methods can change a child’s trajectory for the better, but the evidence base remains thin. To refine these early interventions, researchers are searching for their active ingredients and testing them in larger, longer-term studies. Learn more: www.spectrumnews.org/

I just do not understand why we can't just accept autism. Who cares how a child plays? I love my autism.

I love being autistic. Non disabled people should be more understanding towards us.

Because I'm lucky enough to have a more mild form of autism, but I've seen people with autism who can't function safely outside of their families homes. What happens when the loving parents die of old age and the autistic child is left in the dubious care of the State?

@@anamatics_14 applied behaviour analysis. It is one of the most known early interventions for children with autism, and other neurodevelopmental disorders. There are some others (eg: Denver model of early intervention) but the basics are the same.
