Tying the time-remap to the angle control blew my mind (maybe it's a basic thing?)! I've been trying to integrate more/more advanced expressions into things to make animation easier and I will definitely be using this!

First 3 minutes are gold, lots of useful info throughout.

I was just starting out with AE last month and I was so confused as to how I could create the illusion of a 3d object using 2d shapes. This was so helpful!

What a great tutorial! I've never seen shape morphing by pasting path keyframes explained properly and demonstrated in a way that actually works...I've always dismissed it as a useless technique so this was eye opening!

Guys, the bit about all four shapes having the same number of points is REALLY important. Even if one sector of the unbrella originally looks like a triangle, there still needs to be a fourth point somewhere on the path, or the whole shape will go nuts when you start transforming it through keyframe copypasting.

There is definitely a way to do that, but it requires some expression know how that I do not posess. I do this sort of thing ALL. THE. TIME. but I use slider controls from DUIK (free third part script)

Okay I'm banging my head here. It's all clear and perfectly explained! But what does a % sign do in the expression? I'm trying to find an explanation for it but couldn't find anything. It works perfectly fine, and it loops my Time Remap, but I'm trying to figure out a deeper meaning. Thanks!

Glad it helped! Hmm. I'm not sure I understand exactly what you're asking. If there are additional details you'd have to manually keyframe those just like you did with the shapes of the umbrella. Let me know if I totally misunderstood what you were asking.
