Hi, I don't know why but clicking the right Botton on the Polysrf from mash nothing happens and when I try to explode it says that 1 mash could not be exploded into multiple parts. Could you please tell me something in merit? Thank you

This info is helpful if you have a complex model that you want to 3D print- you can change your object to a polymesh and then reduce to the maximum number allowed for 3d printing (shape ways allows a max 1000000)

great explanation, but i have a question, could i modify the object when it is a mesh? i mean modeling or deforming the mesh as you did with the sphere? Gracias and great video

So I have this model where I want to increase the thickness of the form, but using offset surface did not work. I tried using this method you did but my file turns into a huge one. Is there a better way to increase the thickness of a complex form?

If thats only for a rendered output, then try the thickness option available in Object data properties in the right menu in Rhino 7

I don't think you need to make a nurbs surface into a mesh to 3D Print or CNC. Instead you need an STL file, which is a triangular mesh. You would make a nurbs surface into a mesh for sculpting, as you would in ZBrush or Mudbox.

A mesh also works fine for cnc

if you want to make mesh into polysurface you can easily measure your 3d object

i can only think about making it low poly and then making it easily editable again

@@eldiegoasecas correct me if i'm wrong, mesh is for 3d printing and polysurfaces are to edit them in rhino again? :) thanks for the replies guys much appreciated!

I just brought a mesh from thingiverse into rhino, a pumpkin, and needed to install a base that interfaces a connector for led's. I turned the mesh into a poly surface so that I could boolean union the structural base onto the pumpkin mesh (now polysurface). Love Rhino, amazing tool.
