Excellent step by step demonstration... No skipping over the process. Outstanding really. One of the flaws of the Eduard nose is the lack of large fasteners all over, but especially in the top nose centerline, which suggests (wrongly) that this centerline seam should go... Airfix got it better, as well as the mgs, but the Eduard windscreen is the best: I put it on the Airfix, whose deeper lines are ok with camo. For metal I think the Meng kit is the easiest choice.

Most of the P51 is bare metal on the fuselage but parts of the wings had filled rivets and then painted silver. Totally different looks. The plastic on the kit looks kind of gritty making the metal parts look rough? The only bare metal that looks real is bare metal foil, sanded and polished to taste, but but hard to do at this scale. The only hope of getting a metal look is to polish the plastic first that gloss coat it black, then silver over the top, it will also help get rid of the crazy deep over done panel lines.

Thanks heaps, Chris. Great video. I'm not into highly weathered models, so my preference is the Pre-Shading. But if I chose to highly weather a model, then I'd go with the black mottled way.

Very interesting metallic result. The entire technique, from the previous video already seems very rewarding and not too difficult, as long as you have patience. Regarding the previous video, instead of vallejo and gauzy, could I use tamiya acrylics? I was warned that using acrylics with those metallic colours would be disastrous, so I was in awe when I saw your result. Cheers!

Great vid and finish but I noticed it only has the one antenna on the back. Pacific mustangs had 2 and one pointing down on the right side.

Currently building the Eduard P-51D5 and must agree with you the decals are terrible, really having trouble with them

This P51 kit is a work of art, but when will we be awarded and we will have the video explaining the assembly of the Mirage IIIE 1/48 Kinetic kit, because you already showed many years ago the details of this kit and unfortunately that's all.

Hi again, What kind of paint / and Thinner did you use for shading? Lacquer? And about the color thinned : black, dark Grey, smoke or anything else?

Hi do you have a way of getting glue of clear parts please.

What colour did you use for post shading?? Black, brown, grey

When I try spraying paint that is a 90% thinner mixture they airbrush blows it all over and makes it look like it's runny. That's at 8-10 psi. Any lower and it's not enough to spray anything out. Anyone else have this problem

Controling your biting point is key, too much paint coming out and you get the problem you discribe,

I presume that these are the newer style of Eduard decals with the removable carrier film Bobby? I hear nothing but horror stories about them.

why is there an appearance of roughness there? Real Mustangs are nearly slick smoothness metal surface wise.
