Advaita Vedanta - Non Duality Explained

Advait Vedant is a school of Hindu philosophy that teaches non-duality or the absence of a separation between the subject and object. This philosophy is based on the Upanishads and commentaries by eminent scholars like Gaudapada and Sri Adi Shankaracharya. Dvaita means duality, while Advait means non-duality. In simpler terms, Advait means the absence of separation between the subject and object. We experience duality in our everyday lives but in deep sleep only nonduality.

Yes as a Buddhist, Advaita Vedanta makes sense. Once we lose our identity with the body, mind, ego and ultimately self, which is also what Buddha taught, we realise that all are one. The oneness of everything is what all these sages, rishis and enlightened beings realised.

"Studying Advaita Vedanta has completely transformed my understanding of spirituality and the nature of reality. The teachings of Advaita emphasize that we are all fundamentally one consciousness, and that our sense of individuality is an illusion. This insight has brought me so much peace and freedom, as I no longer feel like I am separate from the world around me. I highly recommend exploring this philosophy, whether through reading, attending satsangs, or watching talks by teachers like Acharya Prashant. It has the potential to change your life in the most profound way."

What if it was both at the same time as you are an individual expression of collective consciousness meaning that each person might be a heart cell or a skin cell or a brain cell, each one is very significant to the total functioning of the being but its clear that the heart cell and the brain cell are very specialized and more important than the skin cell, they all function together in unity while only being superficially separated. Those who forget god, god makes them forget themselves.

from advaita prespective, my absolute reality is that i am krishna, i am shiva, i am vishnu and i am almighty god. i am advaita brahman nnduality. ahambrahsmi. which is true for everybody. when kishna said i am absolute reality which is supreme that doesn't mean Krishna is supreme. blind devotees think krishna is supreme. but the reality is nonduality is supreme and krishna is part of it just like us. the name of the conscious absolute reality is shiva. shiva is the infinite consciousness which is the essence of nonduality. when nonduality saperates in duality shakti saperates from shiva which is physical energy of creation it is also infinite. which gives rise to physical multiverse where vishnu/narayan/hari is born from shakti. according to shiva and shakti purana vishnu/hari/narayan is son of shakti.

@@Yogis_BitterTruth_BrahmNirvana well, bhagavatham says Krishnastu Bhagawan swayam. Bhagawatham was the greatest scrioture given by Veda Vyasa. We need to focus on that. Bhagawatham again says vaasudeva para vedha vaasudeva parahaa makaha vaasudeva para yoga vaasudeva Paraa kriyaaha Vaasudeva param jnanm vaasudeva param tapaha vaasudeva paro dharmo vaasudeva paraa gathihi. Which means Krishna in ultimate is everything. His Devotees are not blind followers but Blind Lovers. They do not care whether the scriptures quote him as God or not. They are just in Love With him. The problem with everyone is we follow the scriptures like vedas and we try to make a literal sense and understanding out of it as to who is who. The way to self realization in this age of KaliYuga is Love towards God(Bhakthi), UNCONDITIONAL LOVE WITHOUT ANY EXPECTATION MATERALISTICALLY BUT WITH AN EXPECTATION OF MOKSHA. Namaste The Rig Veda has 10,552 mantras grouped into 1028 suktas or hymns each having roughly ten mantras. The suktas are further grouped into 10 mandalas. Rig veda has only Rik mantras which have a metrical structure. Of these 2456 mantras are in the well known Gayatri meter ( The popular Gayatri mantra is also in this meter). As per Shri Aurobindo Ghosh , Rik is the mantra of divine consciousness. Its brings its light of revelation. There are around 400 rishis in the rig veda of whom atleast 25 are women. The Yajur Veda primarily consists of Yajus mantras which are rhythmic phrases not set to any particular meter ( Unlike Rig Veda) The popular Taittiriya Samhita of Krishna Yajur Veda has around 4773 mantras , of which around 2/3 rd are yajus mantras ( rest are Riks) The Yajur Veda deals with Yajna or rituals to appease devatas The Sama Veda consists of Riks with the added dimension of music. The Atharva veda has 5987 mantras grouped into 730 suktas and 20 Kandas ( Chapters) Most of the mantras were revealed to the lineage of Rishis Atharva and Angirasa. It contains knowledge of healing, construction (Vastu) and societal conduct amongst others Thanks.

@@sanjanak702 Namaste In Shikshavalli of Taittiriya upanishad it is mentioned that when chanting a vedic mantra four factors must be taken care of when chanting a syllable These are 1.Varna (Syllable) - Every syllable must be correctly pronounced. 2. Svara ( Accent) - Each syllable must be pronounced with one of the three accents namely udaata, Anudaata and Svarita 3. Matra(Duration) - Each syllable must be chanted for the proper time duration. There are 4 time durations namely hrasva,Deergha,Plutam and ardha maatra. 4. Balam (Effort) - Each syllable must be pronounced with appropriate force. Hence we must take care to listen and chant a vedic mantra correctly (Any non mantra like shlokas , 108 names etc. can be sung in any manner) After chanting the mantra, we need to observe where our mind has been. If the recitation is perfect but the mind has been involved in thoughts of office, an individual etc , the results experienced will be minimal. If we give our full attention to the meaning/deity of the mantra during recitation, better results will flow. Thanks.

When one transcends the concept of duality, where things are viewed as opposites or contrasts, it's often referred to as "non-duality" or "transcendence of duality." This perspective sees beyond the conventional distinctions of good and bad, right and wrong, and instead perceives the underlying unity or interconnectedness of all things. Some spiritual traditions and philosophies, such as Advaita Vedanta, Zen Buddhism, and certain interpretations of Taoism, emphasize the realization of non-duality as a key aspect of enlightenment or spiritual awakening. Life and Death you have been surpassed. Man and woman you have been surpassed. Gods and Goddesses you have been surpassed. This is my kind of party right here, past the rebirth past the materialism and past all the other Yin and Yang nonsense of balance.

Objectivism is a snapshot in time of the event. Its not inside yourself, it’s removing one’s self to accurately witness a moment in time. Beyond that objectivism isn’t where it ends, can even be removed by not equating good with bad or anger with sad. Every expression is self defined no contrasts or negatives needed. Just in case anyone fears atman reading Brahma’s words as if from a literal god while simultaneously relating, and knowing I’m not. Objectivism seems like a random thing maybe to bring up, but it’s not a commentary on old thought. I don’t know if Indians are familiar with the concepts of post modernity or meta modernity, but when it is used against you. Eventually just saying an objective easily observable truth in isolation is too feeble minded to be entertained (in public discourse) So for me it’s a form of taking back what is true and good, it’s a practice for activism. I hope that makes sense

Namaste The upanishads which are a part of Vedas declare that there is only One and to realize this Oneness of all life is the ultimate purpose of life. Every moment we breath, nature reminds us of this truth as each incoming breath resonates to Sah referring to He and outgoing breath to Ham referring to I (The Sanskrit words are split as Sah and Aham and its conjuction is Soham) Every time we breath , we can tune ourselves to this ultimate reality of Oneness by remembering Soham. This is called Ajapa Gayatri and is on an average chanted 21600 times in a day Sah represents Parvati as it is the incoming , introverted energy denoting creation and Ham represents Shankara , the outgoing , masculine energy denoting dissolution. Thus the masculine and feminine , Shiva and Parvati , together denote completion of life. The Yoga Chudamani Upanishad mentions that this eternal chant is itself capable of giving salvation upon constant attention and reflection. Thanks.

(Excerpt from message of Shri Datta Swami) Pure Awareness (Soul) requires existence of 2 items. One is inert energy that is obtained from digestion of food (Annat Purashah- Veda). Second is nervous system, which alone can convert this inert energy into awareness on functioning. So, awareness is dependent on these two items but God is independent & does not depend on any other item. Matter (food) is converted into energy & awareness is a form of energy. Thus, matter & awareness are inter-convertible. When a human being called “Ahalya” was converted in to inert statue & again when statue was converted into human being, this inter-conversion is proved. When Ahalya became a stone, her soul did not go to upper world. It remained there only. Awareness is an item of creation & so exactly duplicate souls were created by Lord Krishna when these souls were stolen by Prajapati. These points clearly show that awareness is a conversion of inert matter & a form of inert energy and an item of creation only. If one accepts science, it is very easy to prove that awareness is a special form of inert energy flowing through nervous system while functioning. Robot is just duplicate of human being. Current flowing in wires is awareness flowing in nervous system.Information stored in chip is exactly information stored in brain. Brain is system of several microprocessors working simultaneously, which grasps all points regarding an object in one instance. You treat brain as CD in which information is stored in the form of written impressions on matter or you can treat brain as the RAM in which the information is stored in the form of pulses by electromagnetic energy. This does not make any difference for a spiritual approach. It is a topic of science.Even in science a physicist does not differentiate matter and energy. Thus, in science it is clearly proved that awareness is inert energy only which on functioning in nervous system becomes a specific form by doing specific work. Infact, awareness is form of special work done by inert energy. Universal Spirituality for World Peace

Caste system is not hinduism it is Christian missionary agenda to convert hindu people in the name and using weapon of caste. caste system is divide and rule policy used by British and British missionaries used it to convert hindus. caste system is myth and varna system is real which is based on occupation which you have free will to chose and it is not based on birth it is earned by proper education in ancient gurukul education systems after brahmacharya sadhana and siddhi. just like today schools is used to educate ourself towards our self chosen occupation. you leftist missionaries anti-hindu stop using caste bomb as weapon. caste system existed in Christianity. christian majority is racist and evil towards minorities and even chistian minority. first handle your own problem. then point towards others.

This Māyāvāda philosophy is nothing but a misinterpretation of the Vedas propagated by Lord Shiva Himself, in the form of Sripada Shankaracharya to mislead the atheistic crowd (followers of Lord Buddha) . . Reality is the philosophy of Achintya-bhedabheda-tattva, propagated by The Supreme Lord Krishna Himself ,which refers to the inconceivable oneness and difference of the Supreme Person and His energies. - There is one Supreme Personality of Godhead, and we are His Part and Parcels, and this material world is His energy. Hence everything is real and not an illusion. Although the material world can be understood as temporary. - The Vedic injunction is that the Supreme Person is spread all over the cosmic manifestation by His energy. This energy is spiritual, but because it acts in the material world it is called maya, or illusory energy. - The Absolute Truth is understood in three phases-impersonal, localized, and as the Supreme Person. The Supreme Person's impersonal feature, brahman, is subordinate to His aspect, as the sun's rays are subordinate to the sun itself. - The perfection of Life is not to merge back to that Absolute Truth, but, to return to the Spiritual Abode.

The last part is incorrect. Light is relative, while darkness is not. Light will die out when the suns die, while darkness will always be and always was. Darkness is the truth, or rather, what it represents-namely that which is unborn and undying. It’s not a matter of perspective, hence why it is the truth for all and for all time. The difference between a fact and the truth is that a fact is relative, while the truth is absolute. The truth is singular, not plural. One truth, one being, one life-for all eternity.
