happens a lot with frame and spine locks. Spine locks, "lockbacks", close due to the vibration shifting the spring. With a frame lock, if your hand isn't on the lockbar, the vibration works the same way. If I was right handed and held the knife in my left hand, there would be pressure on the bar preventing that

What happened to the locking mechanism at 4:29? Is that lock really stable if it lets the blade close at just a couple of strikes on the spine?

I let go of the grip. Vibration can close any horizontal lock. When the hand is on the grip, that cant happen because the lock is always forcibly engaged
