I started watching adult swim at a turning point in my teenage years when these bumps were being aired and I remember being really stricken with these, I feel like they really shaped my music, artistic and aesthetic tastes into my adulthood. I remember staying up late to watch anime but coming back waaaay more interested in the "weird tractor and train pictures with the music" and standing up super close to the TV to decipher the blurry ACTN logo, haha. Thanks a lot for posting this. I know a lot of people have posted the full length bumps and that bumpworthy exists, but it was nice to revisit the actual lineup during the time that I would have been first discovering these. ❤️

That "Happy Birthday Secret Weapon" bump sure sticks out compared to everyone else.

Yeah it does seem out of place, it's like the beginning to their trippy style they adopted in recent years. lol. At some point later in 2007, they changed that bump to the one with the Broken TV in a forest from 2004-05

The bumps at the end starting with the 179 st. Jamaica, I can picture the sun just starting to come up and the faint blue sky out my window as these bumps play. :’)

This really takes me back. I really miss these ACTN bumpers.

@@bumparchive whenever they dropped saturday anime entirely. I think Spring 2008? I remember they ran a promo with like old stock footage of farm equipment where they straight up said saturday sucked as it was so they were adding birdman and venture reruns along with frisky dingo. A lot of things they were doing were pissing me off at the time so that was it for me until the eric andre show came along

@@kevind.mendez7215 Ugh yes, I remember that being in February 2008. I remember that commercial too "Not Sucking Saturdays" is what they called it. I remember not liking Saturdays much at that time anymore. They still did show anime but only at the last half of the block. Oh and then a month later was the dreaded change of weeknights. At first I remember thinking maybe it was some kind of special occasion that they were giving non anime that night. I remember waking up and setting an alarm to watch FLCL which had been running on Mondays at that time, but instead was Home Movies, which I did like that show, but I was still annoyed that FLCL was not coming on. Then the next day? same thing. It kinda made me get out of anime entirely for a few years. I didnt start watching anime much again until Toonami came back and I remember they brought back Eureka 7 which I used to watch just before they took anime off on weeknights.

Of course, this is also around the time that AS started airing every night.
