Being an unknown musician with hardly any audience, I don't have the budget for multiple guitars for live work and don't want to change tunings between every piece (or funds for lots of new string sets as this sort of tuning kills strings quickly) - so rather than lots of alt tunings I use a partial capo a lot. Adrianne Lenker has so much great material I love it. Learnt a lot of her songs already, the clip of playing myth beauty and the tuning and capo position is sooooo helpful. Can't wait to play along. Sometimes just knowing the tuning is all you need to learn a song. Not a lot just forever another great one, and my angel is a great closer to the songs and instrumentals album. LOVE Big Thief and absolutely love this too!
beautiful
This is so relaxing
Amazing video, thank you
Thank you for showing that to us
Adrianne. Thank you so much for this wonderful insight. You have totally inspired me. You’ve opened up my eyes. I’ve played a long time and have used the D tunings years ago. But you’ve reminded me of their beauty. But all the others are stunning as well. Thank you so much for your beautiful voice and your most tender heart. I love Marooned Sailor. A beautiful handle indeed. I once was a sailor. Freddy Lopez 🌪🌈
Thank you so much for this
Wow! Well explained. You're amazing
So soothing
Thanks for sharing your tuning ideas
Adrianne Lenker has so much great material I love it. Learnt a lot of her songs already, the clip of playing myth beauty and the tuning and capo position is sooooo helpful. Can't wait to play along. Sometimes just knowing the tuning is all you need to learn a song. Not a lot just forever another great one, and my angel is a great closer to the songs and instrumentals album. That song I believe is open D but don't tune down the B string, and capo on the 2nd fret.
So glad this came across my recommended. Heard of Adrianne’s music before but not Big Thief. Starting to learn Mythological Beauty with this video!
I think I've finally found an artist with a similiar musical philosophy and style to myself. Cool to find relatable artist.
I needed to hear this beauty. Even if it's just a semi-instructional video, it's so gorgeous.
Excellent Video!!!
This video feels so therapeutic
Relearning music theory, songwriting, and guitar after 9 years, and this video is in my top 3 most helpful guitar videos
Great video and insight! Just subscribed 👌🏼
Love it!!!
Impressive stuff. Great vid. Gives me inspiration to try out dif tunings now.
Her voice, even just when speaking, is so sweet and delicate
this video is incredible
My favorite is DADGAD, but I've played with a couple of these tunings by trial and error. Great video, and wonderful music as always!
