Brilliant video, just bought a one year old SGX and spent at least 2 hours trying to find out how to get past error light on water heater. Wish I’d found your video earlier. Will definitely look to upgrade Webasco controller.

Thanks for the kind comments Eugene. This is my first and (so far) only foray into KZread video making. I struggled to get my head around all of the valves and then on one trip we got the flashing red light on the Whale control switch and I realised that neither the dealers nor Whale customer service could help. Not their fault necessarily, there's just so many slightly different configurations of heating system out there. Glad to help, hope you enjoy the van 👍

I joined the Adria Campervan Facebook site, and your video has been referenced a few times where people have had similar problems. It seems so long ago since I mentioned that we were awaiting our van to arrive and unbelievably we are still in the same position along with loads of others. Once again, thanks for the video.

Thanks for this informative video! We hade the Whale boiler and Webasto heater at our earlier RV, really nice system. Especially with the MultiControl mod as I saw you had. Great contribution 👍

@@blueether191 Yes, it's very remarkable that Adria does not fit that at factory. At my earlier RV the factory started to fit it on the model year after mine. We reported to them that it should have been fited and they listened. Hope Adria get the clue as well.

Can these 640 SXGs campers be order with awd or 4x4 for off-road use, pitty if not.

I know very well the SGX now , if you have any question , I do many things on it We can put 645w of solar panels I put very good alarm, tracker GPS , distant contrôle of everything , boiler , fridge , batterie , lock , general switch , music, chargers , lights I control every thing on my phone

Hi, for this being your first video I have to say your content instruction and user guide is probably better then what a hand over from the dealer would be so well done. We have sold our caravan and now moving over to a van and after exhaustive research the Adria and this exact same model and colour will be our priority when we do come to buy. Can I ask firstly does fitting the webasto control unit hinder your warranty or was it a manufacturer extra and secondly a silly question as stating the obvious you now own this van but how did you compare it to other manufacturers and lay out etc. nice touch of the pointer at the end ? We have two which all being well will travel with us. Please keep the vlogs coming your presentation is well worth the view 👍

Hi Lawrence, thanks very much for your nice comment! I'm not sure about the warranty to be honest, but I just reasoned that I can always keep and re-fit the original controller, and I haven't cut into any cables at all, it's just a plug-and-play mod, if you like. I plan on making a video all about the Webasto mod this week but things are busy. In essence all it involves is unplugging the original unit from the loom and plugging in the new one. The only decision to be made is where you'd like to mount the new module and if you're worried about the warranty then you'll see a lot of people choose to fit the new unit above the bed area (which is where the plug in connection is to be found) and therefore don't even need to remove the original module, so very easy to undo the modification if needed. It really is just a plug-and-play mod, the only complication in fitting it where I have is that you have to fish an extension cable through behind the fridge.

Liked the marigold gloves ... every camper should have at least 1 pair! Are you going to do another video? ... this one was nice and easy to watch.

Thanks for the comment and subscription Roger! I pieced together the remedy from trawling half a dozen other Facebook Forums, for different brands of van. The trouble is that there're so many slightly different configurations of heating system out there. Between the dealers and Whale, neither of them has the complete picture. Once I'd found the solution I thought that maybe one or two people may have found it useful, but the video has so far had 20K views 😂 so well worth the effort! Apparently the flashing light indicates "Loss of DC voltage", which occurs each tie you switch off the main control switch of the van because Adria don't fit a permanent live DC feed to the boiler, so the remedy is either get a competent electrician to fit a permanent live feed, or just get used to toggling the switch. Enjoy!👍

Thank you for this. The resetting of the Whale heater switch was very helpful! What difference does the Webasto multi control unit make?

You’re welcome 👍. The multi control unit adds a lot of functionality, mainly: you can programme the van heating to go on and off at set times up to a week ahead. You can see the actual temperature set point (which you can’t with the basic dial that was factory fitted). You can use it to circulate ambient temperature air from outside (great on hot days). You have access to a boost mode to warm the van up quicker. The installation cost around £100 all in but is worth it in our case.

@@mmck We used model no. 9030910D and were told that the D at the end just denoted the batch number/manufacturing date, so don’t worry about the letter at the end. I also purchased a plastic surround, part no. 9030077A to finish it off.

@@mmck I forgot to mention, you’ll need and extension cable, part no. 9031988A if you want to fit it where I’ve fitted it, as the connection into the loom is above the bed....a lot of people just fit it above the bed, in which case you won’t need the extension 👍

@@mmck obviously this is assuming you have the same van model as us......there are other controllers for other models of heater.....

Hi Jerry, so I’ve taken so long to reply - I don’t monitor this channel much. I’ve looked under the bonnet and the colour code is 691 - Grigio Ferro HWB apparently 👍
