This is so helpful information! I went to shelter today and found so much love for a 3 year old shepherd. I always want a puppy but I have no experience with them. Maybe I should consider this adult one.

What age dog/puppy would you suggest if you have a gentle 2.5 year old son?

That’s exciting. 11 months can certainly be a great age to adopt for some. Good luck!

What do you think would be best for my teenager? She has been asking me to adopt a dog for years and i’m finally ready. I dont know if she has the patience to handle teething but i Don’t know if she’ll want to go through the realization of an older dogs behavior. Can you tell me what would be good for her?

for a teenager? a rock. For the whole family that will all take care of the dog? probably a Poodle, great for first time owners and easy to take care of.
