    Reaper. I used to use Audacity. But now that I can make my work quicker with Reaper's Actions Tools, I won't go back. Also works on Linux and I am totally Linux.

    Glad I could help! I think Audition is a great move because of the tools it comes with. The only downside is it's a subscription, but it is loaded with voice over tools -Randy

    I switched to Audition from Audacity a year and a half ago and haven't looked back. I've been considering Reaper or Twisted Wave, but I have to admit that would mostly be for the sake of trying something new. :) And yes, spectral editing is AMAZING.

    Hey Rob, Audition is such a loaded program. I will say, I wish they had a non-subscription option, but it seems everyone is going that way. I've heard from a lot of talent that Reaper is fantastic, and inexpensive. -Randy

    Same here. I love Audition's punch & roll and spectral editing the latter's a complete game changer since there's a lot of traffic noise outside my studio

    Right now I use Logic Pro as I used it for music before getting into Voice Over. I've debated switching to Audition mainly because of the frequency spectrum analyzer, but logic pro seems to be doing the trick so far. Would be interested to see what you think of Logic!

    That's awesome. I am in a similar boat with ProTools. It will always be 'home base' for me. Logic is fantastic though! I think it has some of the best and most transparent sounding stock plugins out there (to my ears). The Frequency spectrum analyzer is awesome, but I can't wrap my head around the editing in Audition. I don't blame you for sticking with Logic -Randy

    Hello, I have just switched to Adobe Audition for my voice over business. I use a Scarlett Solo as my interface and currently use windows. My question is do you have a video that teaches how to combine audio and voice. I am having trouble , it says it has be to the same channels however I cannot for the life of me figure it out.

    I've seen it recommended elsewhere to have it as close to the final output (-3db) as possible so not to include unwanted bg noise etc. Why do you recommend -12db? Thanks

    How do I get my Levels to be at a consistent 12dB?

  • @voices

    @voices

    Жыл бұрын

    Make sure it's -12dB not 12dB! A practical way to achieve this is to find that sweet spot when adjusting the gain (whether that's on your microphone or your audio interface). Try talking in a normal voice and adjust until the levels are hitting just under -12dB. You can also try to normalize the audio when editing on your preferred DAW/Software.

    Why would anyone use adobe audition and pay every month to use it when there are so many daws you can pay for one time and own?

  • @voices

    @voices

    Жыл бұрын

    It's a solid question. There are a few decent reasons. 1, continuous updates. When you're paying a subscription, it's fair to expect the product to be updated to keep current with OS and plugin updates. 2, it has tools built-in that aren't on other DAWs, like the spectral frequency editing. Im with you though, I'd prefer to but it outright. -Randy

    Reaper has spectral analysis, is frequently updated, has automation, and is basically free. Reaper's learning curve can be steep, but that learning curve is way cheaper than the 100s of dollars you spend on a year's worth of Adobe Audition.
