    Hi Max, very informative videos that I really needed. You explained a very confusing pieces of information in such a well-organized and easy to understand manner. I'm planning to study Master degree in Germany next year. I'm not from EU country and will definitely have to get a blocked account. I'm not sure if you know this information but for a 2 years Master degree program, do I need to put 22000 errors+ into a blocked account right away (before applying for visa) or can I do 1 year so 11000+ euros first? I have read in a website a while ago that proof of 1 year financial stability is sufficient but I just want to make sure if that information is right. Thank you for making such a good videos!

    @@maxyoko Thank you for answering! This helps a lot. Since I'm not native German speakers, sometimes I got information mixed up when I translated it into English. Since my family will be funding my study so I can proof enough financial support for both years but putting 22000 euros in at one time is a bit scary. Also, well noted on a part-time work contract information -- that's cool if I can find one, it will definitely be helpful. Thanks a lot! Your channel is a life saver for my journey haha. Keep up the good work.

Which one will be easier to get a DAAD scholarship, applying for DAAD without a bachelor's degree or after getting the degree? And i watched your video about TUM, i prefer applied science like you. Which universities is better for these fields in your opinion?

    applying for a DAAD scholarship after completing a bachelor's degree is more common, but there are options for undergraduates too. When it comes to the Universities of Applied Sciences, Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences (Hochschule Karlsruhe - Technik und Wirtschaft), Munich University of Applied Sciences (Hochschule München), Aachen University of Applied Sciences or Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences are really good

    Really appreciate your nice comment ^^ It is possible to study in Germany at any age. We had a guy in my Physics degree who was 56 years old. Now most of the students at classic universities are going to be very young, usually fresh high school graduates but there are also people in their mid-twenties. At Universities of applied sciences, there might be more people on your age level. I would say the average age in my degree program (Hochschule München) is 23 years.

    When you extend your visa after arriving in Germany, the duration of your residence permit can vary depending on the reason for your stay. For students, typically a residence permit is granted for the duration of your studies. But you might renew it every year so that it stays valid

    These days you get the same degree from applied universities and universities. In the end it depends on what you want to do after your studies. Universities focus in scientific careers, while applied university (which are only called like that in English, they are no real universities and not called a university in German) focus on the industrial application, hence the name. Finally it depends on the person/company looking at your degree. For an industry job, a degree from an applied university should be better (e.g. because it includes internships), but some companies sadly see more scientific degrees from the university as "better". You should decide what you prefer. University give you way more freedom, but also require more autonomous work. Also you will go deeper into foundations with way leas applications. Applied universities on the other hand are often structured more or less like schools, less freedom, but also more guidance to get through.

    I tried the DAAD database for admission requirements and I got "You qualify for direct general admission for academic studies in any subject area" So what does this mean? I mean what is the difference between general and specific admission? & Does this mean that I do not need a studienkolleg (preparatory course)? Am kind of lost here SOS 😅😅

  • @maxyoko

    It means, that you can directly apply to the Bachelor program for any field of study in Germany. I think Studienkolleg is not required here but minimum grades for admission and language requirements still apply

    The required IELTS score for admission to a German university can vary depending on the specific program and institution but I would say it's about 6.0. Alternatives are TOEFL or some universities have prep courses

    Yes. However, some masters programs require a minimum amount of credit points in a certain field. So if you have a bachelor’s in information science and want to do a master’s in economics you would have to take some additional classes in econ. Depends on the university and the exact degree tho

    hi! i'm an american student trying to attend heidelberg university in biochemistry. the only thing i'm currently worried about is my academic record. i have two b's in calc 3 and spanish 3 from last semester. would you recommend i retake them to make my gpa a 4.0 instead of a 3.9 (i'm in sophomore year)? or what is the lowest gpa a german school would accept?

  • @maxyoko

    @maxyoko

    6 ай бұрын

    3.9 is quite an impressive GPA. To know the exact GPA requirements for your desired program, it's best to check their official website. German universities often consider more than just grades; they may look at your overall application, extracurricular activities, motivation, and language proficiency. So it would probably be better if you focus on them instead of getting slightly better grades :)
