My sony 6400 won't give me the option to change the 3000k numbers, it's this a software update??

You and I might have different firmware but mine is was shipped in the box. On the "spiny wheel" where your thumb is you can also "click" the arrow to move deeper into the menu if you click on the right side with your thumb. Hope that makes sense.
