I skated a full black adv colorway for about 2-3 months, and they were still holding up strong (no sole holes, upper still in 1 piece) and weirdly enough didnt rip any laces, or just the 1st hole. The boardfeel (or therefore lack of) is what made skating this shoe so fun, it was like having cinder blocks attached to your feet but shaped in the perfect way for skating. It forced me to change the way I skated because I couldnt just feel the board as much to do flip trick. Thus making me have a smaller bag of tricks but more confident and consistant. And the fact that they were so thick and padded does protect your feet quite well and keeping them warm which made skating in winter fun for me, but I guess during the summer would be a problem. Landing primo felt the same as landing bolts lol. The whole time skating them, I felt very comfortable and confident on my board. I would've kept skating them but they ended up burnt in a stolen car.

I have the lows and love them so much. I do have board feel, although less then what I normally skate I still do think they are great shoes

it is the first shoe that truly lacks broad feel because the midsole is so thick. but on the upside it is also the first shoe that is truly soft and comfortable. it feels like walking on a cloud

I bought these magnificent basketball shoes on the early '87;they lasted me the ass (meybe about twenty years...!),and now that I'm 54,my kids gave them to me again in my birthday....the closest to time travelling...!practically never was SO happy and so fund of any of my lifelong shoes...and I recently discovered a 3D file for not to be everytime zipping up and down that velcro stripe...You must believe that I did mostly everything in those shoes (except flying on a balloon or selling umbrellas,as we say in my country ;-) )...say no more;if you are looking for a nice and good-looking basketball shoes that shall be ok for any task you give'em,those are a great choice for you .Greetings from Palafolls,Catalunya!!*!!

1) it's good to hear you're moving to a healthier work/life balance. Videos will come more easily and be better the more you're enjoying making them. Look after yourself! 2) Nike SB Force 58 - they seem to have the Nyjah-style slippy soles that I have got used to, but are quite a bit cheaper and have a more traditional sneaker look. I'm not sure if they'd be great or just meh and would appreciate *an expert opinion*

They do NOT last long for shit LOL. Maybe with some shoo goo, or better yet Shoe drops you can extend the life, but after like 40 kickflips (which I guess varies a lot depending on how one skates) the lace bed system was starting to peel up. 🥴🥴 What's hype about them tho is they do break in super easy, but don't necessarily have that cupsole feel if that's something you look forward too. I really liked how they skate but for the price they are...Man

I just got these off Amazon for $50 recently. These shoes definitely feel on the stiffer side and I was also surprised to find that my it didn't fit me at my usual 11.5 sizing so perhaps the compartment runs a bit roomier than I thought since all reviews I saw said they were true to size. That or perhaps I was a size 11 the whole time and I had no idea lol. They look pretty fresh though and feel a bit more comfortable to walk in compared to my AF1s. Thanks for the review though because I can now look out for some of those cons you pointed out.

the netting is the dellinger web - an old idea adidas had from the 80's that a mesh wrap on foam could "control" which direction forces go through the foam

I wish you could’ve got your hands on the Diego Najera version. I have those and have been skating a Forum Low ADV for almost 8 weeks now and they’re still holding up! P.S. The style of these are sick especially if you’re a skater with baggier pants🔥

maybe you could try to review the new balance NM440 High, they look dope but are they good tho?

There's some differences with each different Forum model (without doxxing myself, I work for a shoe store that sells all these different versions Forum Mids and Lows are the basic shoe, just essentially used to look good or as a chill shoe, these versions have a removable strap (that doesn't do much tbh) The actual '84 (both the high and low) use better materials and are built more to the original 1984 specification (for example more, more padding on the upper, strap is not removable without cutting it) And the ADV is the same as the '84 Low, with a skate insole, slightly thicker midsole/outsole, and centering straps for the tongue. The Najera ADV Mid is essentially the same as the low with a mid-top upper. If you ever do another review of these, review the 84 ADV's

(I forgot to add this) in regards to the function of the mid-strap, it was meant as something to reinforce the weakest part of your foot and ankle. It's been a core part of the Forum since the shoe's initial release and people usually didn't keep the straps back then since they were cumbersome and a pain to get off normally.

I have a love/hate relationship with this shoe after a few solid sessions. Yes, in order for them to feel nice you need to microwave them, also remove the glued on insole and replace it with something super thin. You DON’T need footprint insoles with these you never gonna hurt your feet. Shoelaces don’t rip. They would be my fav shoe probably if not for the flick. I just can’t get used to it, it’s anemic. The sole itself is pretty grippy though. I lost consistency in my kickflips and had to adjust my feet positioning. At the same time i think it’s impossible to roll your ankle in them and the cushioning and support they provide is above any skate shoe. They feel a bit narrow until you microwave them. They are also surprisingly a pretty lightweight shoe. I wonder how they compare with dunk high and the ADV forum version, I never tried those.

There's nothing better than a shoe with 0 board feel and a thick insole. Like it's hard at first but once you break them in it just protects your foot like crazy

Although I'm super late to this, bought Forum 84 High Cloud white / White tint for my first pricy pair of sneakers (I've only ever worn 40$ ish sneakers) and excited for it. I'm still a beginner but might try skating with it as well. Dont want to be that guy but does anyone know the music playing from 0:35? It slaps hard.

Another way to fix stiffness in leather basketball shoes is to run them through the wash cycle a couple of time and it actually breaks them in making them soft and flexible .

I waited for a suede version of these shoes for such a long time when they dropped I couldnt pull the trigger. lol.

Bro I think the only adidas forum version made for skateboarding are the Diego Najera`s ADV , those you tried are just the regular basketball ones.

Definitely a classic look. I finally order a new shoe that is not the Tyshawn. I pre-ordered the Mike V Cariumas. Yup gave into the constant Cariumas marketing. Working is important and I think it keeps the joy in the channel when the channel is not the work but a passion.
