I love the miniatures. I think the game looks pretty cool. Shame it's set in the Horus Heresy. I would've liked to see this new epic scale opening upto xenos factions.

Weapons fall into 3 categories, Shield Stripping, mass damage, pinpoint damage. Some weapons can do multiple roles.

Yeah, that makes sense.

The Titans in Legions Imperialis use more streamlined rules and won't use the Titanicus command consoles. So for a more 'big battle' game you can play LI; but for more granular titan system management you can play AT.

Yeah, definitely a lot simpler.

I left all the weapon cabling off and magnetized all weapons. The models can be a bit challenging and need some custom work to accommodate magnets on some of the titans. But the game really is a blast!

Same - loved it

I’ve built two legions and two knight households. It’s a really cool game with some rules oddities but is fun nonetheless. The Reavers are pain in the asses to build, especially the legs. I loved making my own special weapons before the resin FW ones were released.

Are the Warlords any better? I just felt the kits got worse as they got bigger, so didn't want to even try the Warlord.

@@ModellingforAdvantage The Warlord is easier in my opinion because it’s enormous by comparison with much bigger parts since it has bigger sprue frames. Watch the legs!!!!! It’s very easy to turn them into chicken walkers if you glue them together too quickly. Also leave the armor panels off when spraying, just blue tack them to sticks and cover the joint. Then you can glue them with plastic glue if you tacked the connection points. Painting them with the armor on is maddening. My tip for the legs: cut the feet off and blue tack them to the bases a few fingers width apart. These are massive building sized walkers, they don’t dodge and crouch like anime mechs. Build your shins, thighs, and pelvises separately. Do not glue the torso on. Now dry fit the knees by letting them sit in your feet. Again, blue tack is your friend, you can tack around the knee joints to line them up. Fit the hip joints into the pelvis and now you see your angle. Now you’ve got your basic leg pose, glue the knees up and let them cure, then glue the hips into the pelvis, then let that cure. The Warlord torsos are huge and heavy, if you glue them to the pelvis the weight will cause the hips to sag and your model will look like it’s bending for loose change. I actually tack the legs up against bottles to support them as they cure. You can glue all the little ankle pistons on while the hips cure to add support. Magnetize all weapons, it’s easy to do and I don’t use all the Reaver weapon cables. Good Warlord build to try: plasma/quake with missiles. Volcanoes are too much heat generally and the other roof guns aren’t that useful till you get close. Pick a target and kill it fast, don’t spread fire. It’s like Battletech in that regard.

You guys make a series of assumptions that don't reflect my playing or assembling experience at all. This starter was released in Feb 2020, not 5 years ago, and I seriously doubt it would be 150£ today, as it's a full 6 models that bought separately cost 132£. People also assumed that Epic was coming along, but there was every indication from the company that no, it wasn't, just like they always assumed Xenos would be coming to Titanicus and they haven't. The game isn't as complicated than Battletech but it's harder to play than Alpha Strike and it isn't a re-skin at all. My games of this have shown that shooting is important, but you need more than the starter models to do that, as that small a number of models makes it so it's very hard to strip shields and do anything further, which drags the game out. On another note, I've assembled my titans a couple of years ago, but I don't recall having nearly as many problems with the Reavers as you guys did. Thanks for the video, in either case. Keep up the good work.

I was tempted by this when it came out, but I didn't have the nostalgia factor to tip me over the edge as I missed the original releases during my hobby hibernation. I have been getting my giant mech fix from Battletech Alpha Strike so I think that itch is scratched for now - still, always good to see you chaps trying a new game!

It is a very different game, far more granular for 3-10 models.
