After listening to Elena Mosuc singing this aria...it's very difficult to de throne her

An excellent baritone and a very basic soprano. He is living every note and every word… She is over-thinking everything and therefore cannot convey any kind of emotion. Excellent conductor!

You are asking too much. To me, she is an excellent singer. Every note is perfect. In a concert, she probably was very cautious expressing too much emotion. Her sound carries slightly darker sound than most coloraturas. Yet, in a concert, she conveys her music so elegantly. I can say that she will dominate major opera houses in the world for years to come.

What a prejudiced comment. I will give you that he gets a bit more into the character than she does but in no way is he "living every note" - if his singing here is "living every note", I feel sorry for opera. I find their interpretations to be well-balanced, both in general and in relation to each other - there is no glaring difference, and he is no luminous singing-actor. However they both possess beautiful and well-trained voices.

Not an expert of baritones, but she sings very well and has a beautiful voice. About what one singer conveys... it's even more in the eyes of the beholder than beauty.
