In the final webinar of the 2022-2023 NKCF Patient Webinar series, Drs. Peter Hersh MD, Steven Greenstein MD, and John Gelles OD join NKCF to address keratoconus vision needs throughout life.

Drs. Hersh, Greenstein and Gelles work together at the Cornea and Laser Eye Institute - CLEI Center for Keratoconus in Teaneck, New Jersey. At the CLEI Center for Keratoconus their work is dedicated to treatment and research to advance care for patients with keratoconus. Dr. Greenstein and Dr. Hersh were Cornea and Refractive Surgery trained at Harvard Medical School's Mass Eye and Ear. Dr. Gelles was trained at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Each holds multiple academic positions at prestigious institutions, including Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in the Department of Ophthalmology. Collectively they have published multiple articles and book chapters documenting the result of various treatments for keratoconus, from crosslinking to surgical procedures and contact lenses. They played a primary role in the US FDA approval of corneal collagen crosslinking. In addition to clinical care for keratoconus, they extensively lecture at conferences to teach other doctors about treatment for patients with keratoconus. They have been honored and recognized by multiple organizations, notably Dr. Hersh and Dr. Gelles have received recognition from the National Keratoconus Foundation as the 2017 and 2023 Top Doc Honor.
