Loving how you are decorating this junk journal Michelle! Don't get hung up on the journal vs junk journal debate, I have a handmade journal I made for memory keeping, creative journaling and I add the "junk" lots of people would throw away, such as packaging, clothing tags, even candy wrappers and stickers on bananas! I am doing what makes me happy! I would love to see you continue decorating your journal, I find it inspiring! 😊😊😊

Those scissors are pinking shears and they are used to cut fabric to keep it from unraveling or shedding. They are fun to use for crafts too. That isn’t a great brand which is probably part of your cutting problem. Fiskars are better and super easy on your your hands, there are also spring loaded ones too for easy cutting. I still think it can be called a "junk journal" because these days I've seen super-curated pretty paper/ephemera collections labeled as junk journals when it's clearly not "junk". Regardless, I love your creations!

I call my journals junk journals even though they might not have real "junk" but they use a lot of leftovers from other projects and bits and bobs that most people would throw away. So when you are using those little torn pieces I would consider that junk because otherwise you would have thrown it away. I love your decorated pages. Looking forward to the next set of pages. By the way those scissors you used are pinking shears and yes they are used on fabric to keep it from fraying as much. TFS❤

I enjoyed this, even though it may be out of your comfort zone you did a great job!! It helps me too as sometimes I think if it’s not perfect, why try!! It’s okay just to play with it and see what happens! ❤~Karen
