Did you have to remove the door knob and lock to do this job?
I had no idea something like this was even possible. What a great way to upgrade a door without purchasing an entire new one. Great video!

This is definitely one of the projects I have been desiring to attempt. You make is look really easy. I will just need help picking it up and putting it back in place.

NIce, this is exactly what I want to do on my bathroom door up top somewhere. I made a video recently about upcycling an old stained glass door and now I´m hooked, Thanks man!

This is exactly what we were looking for! Thank you!!!
You made that look easy. Great job!
Love this. I’ve been researching adding glass to our solid wood door. Seeing this video I now have hope that I can do this myself, with as you say, an extra set of hands. I think I’m gonna try To do this.
I'm going to try this on my bathroom door and frost it once installed. The information is priceless. Thank you so much

@@MrFixItDIY ...Thank you for that information.
That's awesome! Thanks!
Great job and very informative.
I have been looking for a video like this all day. My builder put in two 6 panel doors. They look like a sore thumb beside the other door patterns. Thank you!
I used the general gist of your video to take the glass insert from one door and install it in my door. Took me about an hour including removing the old door from the hinges, removing all of the hardware, measuring, cutting and re-install of the glass, hardware and putting it back on it's hinges. Awesome vid, thanks for the ideas!!

Unbelievable! Thank you so much.
Beautiful job
Awesome job!!
I am so glad that I found this video! Thank you 😊
My front doors don't have any windows. I thought of searching for videos to see if I could do it myself, and I'm glad I found this video. A question though, can I cut old 70's doors with the equipment you used? I think these are plain old-style wood doors.
Thanks! looks like I can do this!
you make it look so easy :)
OMG you made it look so easy.
I’m floored. I can’t wait to transform a cheap $300 slab door to something amazing! Thanks!!
Absolutely awesome!!!? Love it 😌😊🤣
So cool!
I like the new door. More welcoming😇
Wow, thank you.
Very nice
You make it look easy
Good informative video
😊 how cool is this before you leave in cold weather
This is awesome! I didn't know this was even possible. Great video! My front door is just like yours and I would like to replace it, but quotes are around 3k or more. Would I be able to use this product if the temperature can get down to -30 Fahrenheit where I live?
This is what i wanted to do but didn't know if it was possible thanks
buddy - you are amazing
That was amazing!!!!!! :)
Awesome!👍👏👏
I never knew how much I can actually do myself. My to-do list just got a little bit longer. Thanks.
brilliant
Thanks for pointing me toward Zabitat.
Great tutorial there. I have a few questions for you. Hope you can answer them for me. So, I have a fiberglass door and two sidelites on either side of it. I am changing them all from the current half round (at the top) style to the squared style, so I need to do a little cutting to modify the new glass. I just purchased two new sidelites and a larger glass for the door (has 2 glass pieces the same size as the sidelites currently). I can't take the sidelites out and will need to cut them stationary. The door I can take off and cut them as you did in this video. Before I start to slice and dice my sidelites, I am trying to find the best game plan to do the small cuts required to square off the top corners of the new glass for the two sidelites. I don't think my jigsaw has a small enough footprint to complete the cuts. I am crossing my fingers and hoping that I can use my oscillating tool to do these cuts. Any helpful hints would be greatly appreciated!
Awesome
Nice
This is MYYY kind of video. :)
You F’n rock!
Absolutely marvelous 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️my next pro ject😅😅
I wanted to learn how to install glass in a door, so how to make the frame around the glass and the caulk and all that jazz. This is just prebuilt everything.
Thanks for the excellent video. Question: do you know where I can purchase the plastic frame that hold the glass insert? The frame of my glass exterior door cracked. The door is facing south so it gets lots of sunlight that caused the cracks over the years. There is a special term for the frame which I don't remember. The frame has screws on both sides / top and bottom.
The best 🖖🇺🇸
I'm trying to find a way to cover or close my window section on my door. Had some break-ins in the area so I want to figure a way to combat it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
@MrFixIt is it the same principle or concept for a solid wood door?
Did you mention for winter insulation ?
We got the same tape measure
A little trick for you using the jigsaw if the blade is too long cut a little bit off of it so then you don't have to tilt the jigsaw and the heel will scratch whatever surface you're working on
does it matter on the thickness of the door? My door is 1 3/4" thick and the glass inserts I see at home depot, lowes etc.. are 1"
Hey nice work! I'm very inspired by this video and will be tackling this myself too. What are the cons of cutting and installing the full glass while the door is still in the frame vs cutting it while laid flat?

My thoughts exactly. More screwing into the holes weaken the hole-screw integrity,…. but, probably not too bad.

@@bonsummers2657 hey funny you just replied because I LITERALLY just did this project yesterday! And I'll tell you, removing the door and doing it this way with the glass laid down is the best way!! Especially because the frame isn't actually attached to the glass on either side. I thought at least one side was attached, so resting the glass flat on the frame is really the only way to safely and accurately screw in the glass to the door.

@@donaldso718I’m definitely doing this. I’m glad I read the comments. I wouldn’t have attempted it standing up. I’ve replaced the bottom sweep, and painted…wish I had seen this sooner.😊

@@lzh3131yes def take the door off the hinges! It's really not hard at all! I did it all by myself haha. Good luck!
Is the sizing you see i.e. 22x64 is a typical size, does it include the frame?
We don't have these kits in Denmark. I have to do go the hard way, to upgrade my old wooden door..
which side of the glass shows on the outside ? i have a full stained glass door, but I think it was installed wrong , is the most colorful side supposed to be street side . Or inside thanks
Where did you get the decorative insert?
do you use a jigsaw for a fiberglass door
Where did you get the glass panel from ?
I have sliding door an want to put glass but the doors are hollow can I do it.
Can you insert glass into a fiberglass front door?
I want to know how to manufacture the door
Great video! Please get help to carry a door, what he did will really hurt your back and cost more than a door costs to be replaced. Another comment is that I would love to see come comment about price comparing DIY vs Replacing with new door or in some cases hiring a company to do it. Some project you same a river of money other not so much. Loved and subscribed to your videos.
What is the thickness of this door you are cutting?
Can I use a circular saw instead of a jig? I can never get a straight line with a jig.
Can you add a glass insert to a solid wood door?
Is it possible to do this with a fiberglass door, too? Thank you:)

MrFixit DIY , Is that half inch glass or one inch?
I'm trying to fix one similar and don't have the trim that locks the window into the door, what is that trim called ?
Hi is that a real all steal door?
I have a glass insert on my door and would like to replace the glass and insert a BREEZEPORT. I cannot find just the insert. The full BREEZEPORT doors retail between $8 and $10,000. Have ou ever replaced the glass in a door and inserted a breezeport? Do you know where I would buy just the BREEZEPORT insert?
😻😻😻
I do not have a door that has any previous glass insert... what would you recommend I start my cut with in order to insert the jigsaw blade in to continue the cut?

A drill bit.
Nice job looks great one problem i looked it up on .zabitat.com that glass section you used cost $900 quite exspensive
I decided to go further and make my own stained glass panel because I found a teacher nearby. If you love DIY, why not make the whole glass!
Would you like some door with that glass? 😂😂
I have foam core plastic door. Would this work with that?

So all that's holding that glass in place is plastic trim on both sides and a few screws?
