If your page numbers are the same: Re-insert page number, but DON'T DELETE IT. Instead, just tab the number all the way to the right. Then, write your running head on the left side again.

Life saver! I'll add that when I tried to do this it had the running head in the right spot but the number was a line down on the far right. Just clicking on the left of the number and backspacing it brought it to the far right on the same line as the running head.

Thank you for sharing the video. I have a question...how can we add repetition of running head in the following page? There could have more than two essay in one file.

You are NOT supposed to have the phrase “running head” on any page of your paper including the title page. The logic: we know its a running head. Do you put the word “title” before the name of the title of your paper? Also The Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th edition clearly states this (page 37 of the wire bound manual). “do not include the label “Running head” to identify the running head on any page (see the sample papers at the end of this chapter).” This book is basically a requirement in college. In high school we had to know both MLA & APA like the back of our hand and we knew NOT to do this. I cant believe this video has been up for 7 years with this oversight. Get the book people even if its not a requirement due to your courses being online, if the book is out at your school, visit your local Barnes and Noble as they are typically in stock there and there is no wait to have it shipped, or extra charge for it to be overnighted through APAs customer service team. Buy the book and stop second guessing, or being unsure about questions in your paper. It will be the best $45/46 dollars you’ve ever spent.

you must be an idiot to not know there are DIFFERENT EDITIONS of apa. in apa 6 you did include “running head: title” in the title page. this video is seven years old… hence the old addition and old rules.

Why does my header disappear on the first page after writing the title on the second page

Well this didn't work. Page numbers disappear when I click the box and header disappears everytime I try adding a number

Hi all, you are probably getting isues with th page number showing only 2 on the next few pages. If you want to fix that issue follow the same steps but when you go to insert the header go to "insert page number, type the page number and title. Is this information truly accurate? The video says APA but it was from 8 years ago...the most up-to-date APA Publication Manual is from 2020...only 4 years ago...

Okay, yes - glad I checked. Just for anyone else using this video as a source for help, this video may be obsolete. This video indicates that the words "running head" should appear on the title page of your paper, but the book, APA 7th Edition Publication Manual, states at the very bottom of page 37 "do not include the label "Running head" to identify the running head on any page." I guess it's okay when you only have a two-page document, but now I have a 10 page document and they all are numbered page 2.

This did not help. Apparently our APA Style requirement for our class does not allow the cover page to be marked as page one our page one is required to be on page 2
