This is something I've done in my own city. I actually planned out 2 realistic-ish buslines that both stretch to the main central station. 1 bus line heads into the downtown and industrial part of the city and the other goes to the more rural and urban parts. Definitely something that a lot of Lego builders overlook! Great idea!

*"Isn't a sideroad right after a tunnel a bit dangerous?"* It might be dangerous, but sideroad right after a tunnel does exist in real life. Yes in real life, there would likely be a mirror, but there would also be triangle warning signs showing sideroad ahead or diamond priority road signs on main road. A stop sign or a yield would make sense on the sideroad, but stop sign would more sense, since it's right next to the tunnel. Coming out of the tunnel, there would also be a warning sign with a image of a train, since there's no barriers.

Instead of a little house, why don't you use that patch of land for the parking slot? It wouldn't be too tall to cover up the tunnel, it makes sense that you would put a small parking slot before a "no car zone", and could preserve the rustic look of the old town without modifing it for a parking space inside the town itself.
@Lop44 Жыл бұрын
it would be neat to have some scenes going on with minifigures throughout the layout, such as a lost dog, or a car crash, or even a picnic with ants on it. it could make looking around the city a lot more fun!

An idea for cars could be instead of a new building adding a gravel parking lot keeping the view of the tunnel as well as removing cars from the town. You could also add some poles or barriers between the new parking space and the town to show visually from a far why there are no cars in the town.
@livingchutoy5422
Жыл бұрын
That could work. Maybe he can make a small roadside produce stand right there just off where the cars park. Add a few garden details around a few of the houses on top of that. Make it look like a community thing. Near where I am the Amish tend to do that. Several families will grow vegetables and sell them at a nearby stand by the road.
@sllverhand Жыл бұрын
The spot you have to put a building on, you could make a parking lot, so you wouldnt even need to worry about a new building. Also it could integrate into the engine house as the train workers cars too
@uaaas7184 Жыл бұрын
Maybe a Tip for the Village you could put a tractor there so the connection makes sense and also the Town is kinda car free.
@chrissmith963 Жыл бұрын
You know what would be cool if you're doing it. Is in the modern city have a castle ruin as say a tourist attraction. Then if you're building a medieval section build the same castle but not as ruins.

AMAZING! I love when you add the greenery. I think you should make that town car free! You could leave it attached to the road for bikes and pedestrians walking! And then maybe add some bollards or cool "concrete" barriers to only allow bikes to get past.

Your series has inspired me to want to create my own lego city. I know it is extremely expensive, but, when you are young you usually don't get the luxury to buy what you want, and your ideas about hobbies that are seen as "childish" are usually put down. Now I want to do something I never got the chance to, and make it my own place to express my creativity. Thank you for creating your content. I bet it has inspired many people just like me to follow their lifelong dreams.

At the village instead of a small house by the tunnel Why not a small parking lot with a light post for all of the villagers to be able to drive to the city. It’ll make the village feel more occupied

Something I always thought would be cool when I was a kid, was if there was a bubble in the middle of a lego city that a person could go under the city and put there head up into so they could see the "inside" of the city! Of course, now there are cooler things, like small cameras that can do the same thing!
@frogsshadow4189 Жыл бұрын
The place you have set aside for another building could be used for a small dirt or cobble parking lot which would keep the sight lines to the tunnel and give the shortest route for cars to drive, maybe a small tourist kiosk with information about the village
@tylerfleming1306 Жыл бұрын
Amazing work as always! Your use of hinges and turntable pieces to get more organic lines is pure mastery of the art form.
@Thebaldpig Жыл бұрын
At the top of the main mountain you should add some snow to make it seem realistic and cool
@entropybentwhistle Жыл бұрын
Your commitment in time and money and scale have to be unmatched in the Lego community. Even the subsurface layering goes far beyond what most people would attempt. I imagine keeping the city dust-free is itself a full weekend chore. Incredible job.

The tunnel looks amazing, and it’s so cool that it can be taken apart easily for maintenance!! I think the empty space would be a lovely area for a little pasture for some cows or a horse
@dezeman8062 Жыл бұрын
Hey Brickcrafts, awesome builds once again. I have a small remark about the windmill in the background of the tunnel part. I think you should remember that mills have a purpose. They can e.g. be used to process wheat into flour, to power a lumber operation, to drain water from a piece of land, to extract oil from seeds, etc etc. It might be a good idea to figure out why that mill is situated there, since there are no wheat fields around nor is there a lumbyard. Also it is in a hilly area, and those dont need the water drainage. Adding e.g. a small wheat field or a small lumber operation around it would really add to the overall logic in the LEGO City!
@jackarthur9129 Жыл бұрын
In the half timber village, you could create a horse stable which would add some more animals as well as more diversity to the city. It wouldn't have to be tall either :)

Looks great, maybe in time you could ad an open mine like in Kiruna (sweeden) between the rural area and the planed airport. Then you would have a lowered level for the pit with mine tunnels going out to the front of the table, giving your city some beginning undergrund action.

I LOVE your work, you are by far the best I have seen. Saying all that You gotta fix where the train tracks cross the road. Roads aren't always flat, I would raise that section of road up to meet where you want the tracks. The sloping from the road back to the flat area would add a layer of depth there.

6:21 the way the hill just cuts off like that is really satisfying to me and i dont know why
Would love a timelapse with relaxing music of this project
Love the techniques used to create the tunnel, such a beautiful result
An idea for cars could be instead of a new building adding a gravel parking lot keeping the view of the tunnel as well as removing cars from the town. You could also add some poles or barriers between the new parking space and the town to show visually from a far why there are no cars in the town.

That could work. Maybe he can make a small roadside produce stand right there just off where the cars park. Add a few garden details around a few of the houses on top of that. Make it look like a community thing. Near where I am the Amish tend to do that. Several families will grow vegetables and sell them at a nearby stand by the road.
The spot you have to put a building on, you could make a parking lot, so you wouldnt even need to worry about a new building. Also it could integrate into the engine house as the train workers cars too
Maybe a Tip for the Village you could put a tractor there so the connection makes sense and also the Town is kinda car free.
You know what would be cool if you're doing it. Is in the modern city have a castle ruin as say a tourist attraction. Then if you're building a medieval section build the same castle but not as ruins.
That tunnel is really beautiful! I think the vegitation around the tunnel worked well!
Bros videos are the best part of my week
I think the little bit of rock near the tunnel entrance was pure serendipity.
It needs street lights!!!! It looks gorgeous but I think those old fancy street lamps would give it so much character
The ending is golden.
The Pigeon should get a little reference somewhere in the city, perhaps as a bird terrorizing some Lego civilians.
At the village instead of a small house by the tunnel Why not a small parking lot with a light post for all of the villagers to be able to drive to the city. It’ll make the village feel more occupied
Imagine if the pigeon becomes a regular addition, the long-standing nemesis of BrickCrafts.
This was one of the best updates so far, so much was done and linked the city to the village :)
Something I always thought would be cool when I was a kid, was if there was a bubble in the middle of a lego city that a person could go under the city and put there head up into so they could see the "inside" of the city! Of course, now there are cooler things, like small cameras that can do the same thing!
The place you have set aside for another building could be used for a small dirt or cobble parking lot which would keep the sight lines to the tunnel and give the shortest route for cars to drive, maybe a small tourist kiosk with information about the village
Amazing work as always! Your use of hinges and turntable pieces to get more organic lines is pure mastery of the art form.
At the top of the main mountain you should add some snow to make it seem realistic and cool
Your commitment in time and money and scale have to be unmatched in the Lego community. Even the subsurface layering goes far beyond what most people would attempt. I imagine keeping the city dust-free is itself a full weekend chore. Incredible job.
I love checking in with each update. Each one is always so cool!
The tunnel looks amazing, and it’s so cool that it can be taken apart easily for maintenance!! I think the empty space would be a lovely area for a little pasture for some cows or a horse
In the half timber village, you could create a horse stable which would add some more animals as well as more diversity to the city. It wouldn't have to be tall either :)
Without a doubt, my favourite Lego city on KZread
I absolutely love these videos! Keep them coming! 👍👍
This is madness. That tunnel and detail. Can’t fault your work at all
These videos are so relaxing and fun to watch! Thank you for being so consistent with your uploads!
A pidgeon statue as reference to that pidgeon at the end of the video somewhere in the lego city would be pretty funny
this is looking more and more sick every time
The road next to the tunnel needs a mirror to see into the tunnel, otherwise it aint safe ;). Anyway love your videos. They are so satisfying
Looks great, maybe in time you could ad an open mine like in Kiruna (sweeden) between the rural area and the planed airport. Then you would have a lowered level for the pit with mine tunnels going out to the front of the table, giving your city some beginning undergrund action.
I haven't built with lego in over a decade, but I still get SO excited when I see this week's video has been released!! I absolutely love this city and the way you film / narrate your process!

@Wildcard61 it is in Germany though 😅
I think you should have a parking area near the town so the road connecting makes a little more sense. There’s no where for cars to park or even drive through in the town. Everything is beautiful but I think this little detail will help.
That tunnel is so blursed
You never cease to amaze! Keep up the good work!
I'm in love with the vegetation. Especially around the hill
I always enjoy opening up youtube when i sit down to build and discover a new update from your project. Thank you for sharing!
Love the updates! Awesome work and creative craftsmanship!
Great creation, man 👍🏼
That tunnel design is just genius ❤
I love how nice your builds look!
Your builds are next level my dude
For the car, I think it would be a great idea to try and build an old timey truck delivering crates or something like that, would fit in with the scene, and still make sense for the road being there
I always love seeing these updates! watching it all come together is so cool
An abandoned grain mill near that village would be cool, it would give somewhere for that railway to end in a siding
Such magnificent designs and building technique !
A lot of creative techniques in this update!
Definitely one of the best Lego cities on KZread!
Maybe the new building near the entrance to the village could be a sort of Visitor Centre, where folks would pick up pamphlets on the villages history or buy tickets for guides and what-not
I LOVE your work, you are by far the best I have seen. Saying all that You gotta fix where the train tracks cross the road. Roads aren't always flat, I would raise that section of road up to meet where you want the tracks. The sloping from the road back to the flat area would add a layer of depth there.
So amazing I can’t believe how beautiful it is
Awesome build.
Really enjoying seeing this amazing city coming together. A cable car station by the village leading to the mountain top would be cool!
First German city Designer using the term "car free"
So much got done in that area. This was an amazing update video❤
I LOVE this series and its so amazing to see your building design
amazing update, the tunnel is perfect.
Your creativity is worth appreciating! The tunnel looks so real! I have a suggestion, you can make some skyscrapers in the Lego city…
You could add one of those tourist guide buildings in the village, and maybe some parking spots next it! 👍👍
Amazing work!! 👏👏🔥🔥🔥
The tunnel and hill look great!!
This is SO good. I always enjoy your videos very much.
Ive got an idea for the empty space: a market! You could add a robbery there to
if you wanted it to be a car-free neighbourhood just make it a bus stop or just for scooters they use the road too!
Maybe you should add a beach connecting towards your harbour. Just a suggestion, that's all
Maybe you could add the village parking lot to the green tile instead of adding a house. I think it would fit in right next to the road intersection and railtracks without making the village look more car centric. Perhaps the parking lot could look more rural with gravel instead of asfalt. :)
I love ur vids and your building technics love it man 👍🏼👍🏼
I'm glad I didn't click away before the pigeon attack bonus clip.
aaaahhh yes my hit of lego city update i swear im addicted to your videos and im always waiting for the next one
Awesome update as always! I know it makes more sense for the little path to that windmill to be paved with those round tiles, but I think it was actually a lot more visually striking when it was simply the negative space where there was no grass! I really liked how that looked
In the big open space maybe put a windmill so residents in the town won’t have to cross the main row to reach it. There could be farmlands there, apple trees, raspberry bushes, strawberry bushes, flowers maybe wheat farms idk?
i love the satisfaction of seeing a video that was uploaded 7 minutes ago
Keep it up man, amazing work
The more I see of your city the more excited I get to see these big developments. It really fleshes things out and the moment you connect the old village to the rest of the city is going to be very satisfying and fun to see. Looking forward to what you're cooking up, especially with what you said about the part near the mountain in the end. Also I was NOT expecting to see that ending haha. You had yourself a mini king kong moment there
