Since the Bible talks about God as being living water, This song is about Tyler not being able to find God and he can't do it by he knows that God is all that he needs. This song reminds me of my finding God again. I was in the lowest part of my life I was an addict and living low...but God sent me a person who I am convinced is an angel or maybe we were just two people that needed eachother and he saved me. When he says I'm lying here just crying so wash me with your water I believe he is asking God to wash his sins away. His mind is desert because it's dry and filled with nothing satisfactory or relieving. He's searching for something to quench his thirst to give him love and acceptance and the best way to feel those things is to accept Jesus Christ into your hearts.

You know that feeling you get when you can just listen to one song after hearing something that makes you really depressed that day. Then you just start letting out all your emotions, I feel that way with this band it just makes me happy and a better person. I don't know where I would be without them. They help me vent in a very emotional way because I have a strong connection with the lyrical meaning behind these songs.

I'm just realizing the beginning says addicted instead of addict. I've watched this so much?? Why have I not caught taht

As much as I love jamming out to the top songs I know all the words to, nothing beats listening to one of their songs for the very first time. It always starts out and I'm not quite sure what the lyrics mean quite yet but then Tyler will just say one line and then it all just hits me, just how truly deep these lyrics are and what they truly mean and then suddenly the whole song makes sense and it's just so powerful. Wow.

this song played after i found out my grandpa passed away. before then my mental state was not good, and this song just meant a lot to me...and everytime i hear it i cry and cry, but i cant stop loving it... l-/

I'll add my story here: All throughout school, I was a fairly happy-go-lucky kind of guy and was always trying to enjoy myself. I had fairly good grades and thought of everyone I talked to at school as my friend. It was a great feeling inside me that I miss a lot. But sadly it all changed when I got to grade 7. Going into middle school was a huge transition from everyone being friendly and being in an understanding environment to being in a more chaotic and hateful place amongst the students. Atleast that's how it felt to me. At first everything seemed fine and I didn't know what to make of it, but I would soon come to understand how cruel people can be to one another. I was bullied nearly every day in grade 7 because I didn't exactly fit in with most students. I was weird and didn't have the same ego as the "cool kids" who would always push me around and hit me and call me horrible names every day like faggot and gay and that no one loved me. I was even told to kill myself. I didn't understand what was happening. I would go home and just bawl my eyes out and wonder what I did to deserve the hate I was receiving. I always treated everyone else kindly, even if I didn't exactly agree with them. But it was made very clear that they didn't have the same mind set as me. Day after day I would dread going to school. A school filled with hateful students that would hide my gym clothes from me, break into my locker, make fun of me, hit me, make me feel like a complete waste of space. All because I was weird? I just couldn't make sence of it. I remember going home every day from being bullied at school only to come home to my mom and step Dad yelling at eachother almost every day and fighting non stop. There was not a single place I could go where I didn't feel hate. I slowly transitioned from a happy-go-lucky person to a depressed state that I couldn't escape from. I would keep telling myself that I should die. I should kill myself. what's the point of living a miserable life? Suicide was always on the back of my mind overtime and it became very over whelming some days to the point where I would just break down all the time whenever I was alone. The only thing that kept me going was my passion for music that I felt in school. I would hold onto that feeling and practice piano and listen to music every chance that I got. it made me feel not so alone. But eventually it made me not want to come out of isolation. I wouldn't come out of my room after school and it became the new me to be alone where I didn't have to deal with people bullying me at school or yelling at eachother and fighting every day like my parents, eventually leading to a second divorce. As time went on, I eventually came to the point where my grades plummeted down and I refused to go to school because I couldn't deal with the bullying anymore and told my Dad all about the bullying. He eventually called the school to make my life less of a living hell. Throughout high school, the bullying died down but I was never the same as I was prior to grade 7. It changed the way I viewed people. To this day, I will never quite understand how some people can be so cruel to others. Please. If you ever see anyone getting bullied, please take a stand. You have no idea how much it can mess your head up and change you into something you never were or wanted to be. I'll never be the same person as I was before all the bullying happened. Please understand that it's not okay to make fun of someone just because they're different. You never know how close they can be to their breaking point. Please don't let them feel worthless and excluded from everything. I don't want to see anyone else go through what I did in school... Thanks for reading this. that's not really the point of the song tbh, just being addicted to a pen and writing doesn't mean anything really, he's talking about how he is so isolated and is so ADDICTED to his pen that he barely talks anymore and he's so alone and doesn't know what to do

I feel like this song is about feeling that you need god after abandoning him, only to realize that you'll always find him in the desert of your mind, no matter how hopeless things seem, you'll always find a drop of water.

This makes me so proud of how far tylers come

this song has so much meaning......Tyler is explaining that he is lost and confused and that he misses someone....He tells his own life stories through his lyrics and i understand them. He has been faced with so many obsticales as all of us have....just some of us have had it harder than others....

this is ironic bc as I am listening to this there is a huge storm in my city and they had to cut the water flow(idk English is not my first language) so I literally can't find a drop of water😂

This video is really meaningful and emotional. Knowing how far they come, in a video. They went from a audience of 12 in a basement, to a sold-out show in a live theatre. They're not just a small band from Ohio anymore.
