Damn, now that's a mod! I love to see unique setups and I've definitely not seen this before 🙌 Also a fan of the kekoa straps and the leather strap holds up well, but I find the hinge part either snaps or the eyelet pulls through the material after a while. Now I've fitted a metal (I don't even know what to call it?) part/looping hinge thingymejig it's much better. ✌️

You could also cast of the bottom of the boot starting at the transition and ending at the heel. Then you could pour a proper shim, you could even use a high durometer rubber and have a shock absorber.

I thought about a shock absorber. People mentioned that might not be good for response. However I do have one of my shells and sole plate in the hands of a 3D printing specialist so maybe something cool will come of that.

@@jadrollervlog Agreed, a soft compound would definitely affect response. I was thinking more like a high durometer urethane, like 85a minimum. Smooth-on sells a range of urethane products. They have tons of awesome products for casting, mold making and production.

How does the velcro strap compare to the stock buckle? Did you feel a change in flex of the cuff?

Every time I look at the them skate, I think they look real stylish, like Jon Julio. Then I see the sole plate and it looks to small and the negative. I say to myself these skates would be dope if there was a massive sole plate, or an aftermarket sole like Night used to make. So these adapt soles are dope on the thems.

So you only have the ufs bolts as attachments to the boot? I bet the boot Is super flexible now. I think the boot needs more than 2 attached points for stiffness. But if that is what you were going for 👍

How long would you guess Symetrics last if you tried to grind them away?

I skate a lot of park ledges, and for me they last a long time. Not sure how they fare on gnarly Street ledges. You should check out Angled Souls if you are looking for a 909-908 sole plate upgrade.

@@jadrollervlog I’m riding CJs just put Symetrics on them. My other skates are UFR & ST. Maybe THEM in the future.

What size Adapt plate for what size shell? It looks like you're wearing a small shell, but I'm not familiar with Adapt's soulplate sizes. I love a good Frankenskate mod!

Medium 908 shell with medium or large plates should work. Im rocking the large plates.

If I was gonna do this with a small shell what size plate would I use

This actually looks better too. There's something off about the Them soulplates. They don't look right, somehow.

I’m always afraid of ruining skates trying to mod them. They are so expensive that it makes it more daunting of a thought. I got the them braindeads recently so I assume if I wanted an adapt soul plate on them I would have to do the same thing right?

As of now that's the only way I can think of. Although I sent my sell too a very well know 3D printer guy so maybe he will have better solutions to come. Don't do anything you don't want to do. May find some used 909s and mod those not your beautiful blues
