Yeh 5mm different. Makes all the difference. When I got my Pat Ridders my small foot was perfect and comfy day 1 but I had to work for the other

Yeah one of mine is 5mm longer than the other too. it's common. UK9.5 on one UK10 on the other so I always buy UK9.5 skates xD

First sessions in my adapts reaaaally sucked, took about 8 hours of skating to break mine in. I never got over the weird balancing tho. Skated adapts for 8 months and kept getting weird issues with em. Feels great to be back on aeons 😂

Heat mold with a pint glass in the skate, it fixes the cuff pressure point

If the skates are still tight you might try a crazy trick an old coworker tought me about workboots. He said this is a trick from the us army. Take a heavy duty ziploc freezer bag and put it inside the boot, fill it with water and let it freeze overnight. The ice will stretch any stretchy material. This was taught to me regarding leather but might work on your skates. Dont fill it all the way, maybe halfway up the laces. Edit: seeing more comments about these customs being tight, would it make more sense to wear bulky socks while measuring? If you wear thick socks while fitting you will have a bit of room, and if they werent tight you could just wear slightly thicker socks to skate which might be comfortable anyways.

I heatmolded my GTO and it was night and day. The lacingis also super important, I skip the mid eyelet in the cuff area to increase forward flex.

Yeah I have carbon frees on them frames and they sound wonderful too when they land, best I've ever owned

I can say, the sweatshirt is warm and looks good!

They def got your sizing messed up. A snug fit is expected but no skate should require 3 heat molds and constant pain just to be skateable, that’s not normal. B2B just reviewed the Brutale and didn’t have any of your fit issues.

I had the opposite experience with adapts - out of the box they felt incredible but over time they developed pressure points and no matter what I did I couldn't alleviate it!

Yoooo! I love my Adapts. I had the same pressure point issue on the ankle and resolved that issue by changing the way I laced the skate and how I strapped it up. I have it laced tighter from the toes to the Mid Foot and Talus. I have the 45 degree strap very secure and then going up the ankle I found that keeping it less tight useful in negating any pressure point on the Ankle. I messaged Peter one time about it and he suggested Heat Gunning the area and Massaging the padding thinking that maybe I just squished the padding too much or moved it out of the way from skating or something? I never did the heat gun thing but I did massage the padding post session when it was warm and I guess that helped? But really I think it was because I changed the way I laced and strapped the skate. Adapts are overall the most comfortable skate I have skated and the one I have the most control in. I have progressed more on Adapts compared to any other skate. They are definitely worth the cost! I will also say that when I ordered mine that I sent in a very detailed outline of my foot with measurements from my heal to each toe and measurement of the widest part of my foot. When it arrived it was perfect and I didn't need to heat mold them at all. I think with some heat molding, playing with different Lacing/Strap configurations, and just getting used to a new skate - that you will fall in love with them! Also iRollerboot made a video where he was using this awesome Boot Molder thing to stretch out his downsized iQon a10s. Good Luck!

Stock grooves on rails is terrifying. Definitely worth 10 minutes on a curb to set the groove on those frames. Hope these break in for you dude.

They seem fast. Great purchase.

Just after that 6:00 minute mark when you "found your groove" with the royales and frontsides, the rail ping/reverb sound was very satisfying.

Amazing skating and edit as always! I'm starting to get a little interested in these now.

checkout all their heat moulding guide, you can use a wheel or something like that to push out that pressure point on the angle. Also having laces in the front of your socks to get you some more space in the toes.

Mine were tight in the toebox too at first. A couple months later no issues. I did aggressive heat molding 6 times 😂 with wheels, clamps and even a golf driver! Eventually worked to alleviate most of my pain points. I ride these plus sebas and SLs. I find adapts fun and i hope they work out for you! Just don't be afraid to go hard on the heatmolding if they are giving you issues. 🔥

Stick with the Adapts fella 👍 😉 I'm on my second pair now and on the pair I have at the moment they did take a few sessions to break in but now they are very comfy. Stick with them and you'll feel the benefits 😉👍

Dope edit and Fun review, sucks that those pressure points are getting to you, nothing worse than having pain when you skate. In my experience the only skates that never hurt me in any way shape or form was the them’s, use it with intuitions and I can skate for hours! Anyway, thanks for the review, cheers!

When your not skating them put some good cedar shoe trees in them, preferably ones with a strong spring. They will help dry the boot out when your done skating them and they will help bump out the toe cap. Literally treat them like a high end leather work boot

Push though the pain it’s worth it also try laceing the skates with a runers knot where the 45 degree strap (no lacing above the 45%) it works for me.

bro stick some sifika shock absorbers in there, bit taller than the stock and a lil nicer, help with the lift, and def heat mold and push out where they dig into your ankle, i did it and no probs anymore! good luck! (Im on stealths which are even stiffer! keep skating them and see how you get on!)

Geat skating. I got FR Antony Pottier and USD Carbons for this season and I downsized in both. Both boots are tight af, both were huring my feet bad for a few sessions. Today I skated Pottiers in a park, just got Kizer Element 2 for them with an antirocker, I put them on remembering the pain from first sessions and they fit LIKE A GLOVE! I suck on ledges but had a great session and for the first time the boots were super comfortable and totally tight at the same time. I bet that's what will happen with your Adapts. Same story with Carbons. I couldn't skate for more than half an hour at first and I was sure I bought one size too small for a few sessions, but now they are totally comfortable and can skate for hours and fit amazing.

I have the same issue with my big toe in mine too... They fit perfect when i sit down, but when i stand up it's like my foot slightly moves forward and my toe is against the front of the skate, so hard landings hurt like fuuuuck! I have a feeling that tightening the laces over the toe area and the area to lock the heel in more may be a problem solver!

What I didn't like about adapts (had the Dominik Wagner stealth from years ago) was the cuff. To me it just didn't work and I don't understand why they don't fix it by finally adding a real cuff. The carbon around the ankle in the cuff area always can either block your movement and cut into your calves or provide zero support at all. There is no in-between. No bending. No support.

I’ve gutted my Jbahs and put intuition in it, that helped a lot wit that ankle pressure point. Couldn’t deal with how stiff skates are for aggressive So ended up using it for big wheels and they are extremely good for that. After a year of skating it with 100 mm wheels I figured how they work. It’s very unique skate and you need to understand biomechanics of it and play with lacing it too. Now the feel like remedyz , but with option of controlling the flexibility at your preference

Someone was trying to tell me if you modify Adapt skates you can get put on a blacklist and can't buy from them anymore 🤣

Can't wait to get more information on the skates coming from you, I've been skating Razer SL Pros and they feel a bit too heavy for me, I've been thinking of going for the custom adapt brutale for a while but considering how expensive they are i wanna be sure about this decision. Otherwise awesome video keep it up !

I've got some EU42 Razors SLs and fully set up anti rocker they weigh 1850grams. I don't have any Adapts, but the difference will most likely be marginal and if you skated the Adapts flat as they come they'd probably be even heavier tbh. Just something to bear in mind before you throw down all that cash! I found out recently that SL stands for superlight, I guess they saved some weight with the baseless design.

@@Sam-yb2ii tbf you're right, boot only the adapts should be a smidgen lighter, I just wouldn't think it would be noticeable enough compared to the SL for the extra dough! I'm curious now what the weight of the Adapts are, no doubt Law will weigh them one day on Great Talk.

I'm thinking it might not have to do with the weight of the skates but more with me being comfortable in them. Weight might play a very minor part in that. I'm still learning the sport as well so i gotta take that into account.

They r some really dope looking skates.. just that price tag 😵‍💫

Interesting, I'm curious to see how you get on with these! I really like the look of their aggressive skates, but I don't think they'd be for me. Their big wheel skates on the other hand... I hope they break in nicely, toe pain is the worst 🙏🤞

When they downsize you 3 sizes its never going to be an easy break in period yikes. i really do hope it works out for ya though coz these are beautiful, not normally a black on black kinda guy when it comes to skates but these look 🔥🔥🔥and omg they sound soooo nice :D imagine going back to squeaky cuffs and clacky landings :D

I think you got something effed up w your feet. You prob got hammer toes or something. My Adapts fit amazing.

if you're literally stabbing your toe into the end I don't see them breaking in. I have 3 pair myself and the size they recommended to me would have never, ever fit me. I went with the US 10.5. my foot is the high end of a 10.5 in shoes, low end of 11. my biggest foot measures 28.8 cm. These skates do not have much padding to pack in, atleast not enough to alleviate that level of tightness. As far as pressure points, the cuff did rub a blister on the outside of my calf where the V cut is on my first pair. Changing the way I skated fixed that for the most part. I'll bet the new insert fixes that.

Carbon fibre is cool, but is it good for skates or just a gimmick? Seems like if you could get an actual mold of your foot/ankle and and have the carbon built around that then sure, but I think otherwise its an expensive gimmick not utilised to its full potential

Take out the “liner” and see of the pressure point goes away

Dont wear too tight skates or shoes around the toe, you will develop bunions.

As someone who has developed minor ones from skating too tight a skate (caught it quickly enough luckily), this is great advice! Don't crush your toes inward towards the center point. If these don't "break in" to the point where you can actually stand up in them without crunching your feet, they're likely too small, custom or otherwise.

I just think you have the wrong size, no matter what skates you try and they're small they're going to hurt. Sure there is break in periods but those are just too small for you and you should of noticed out of the box and sent them back for at least a half size up.
