During Bloomquists qualifying laps it seemed like his car just jumped forward on the last 3rd of the back straightaway like it was just starting to hit the motors powerband......wow !

I think this was the year the UMP cars came to Crown Point Indiana and Bloomquist was the fastest thing on the track.

At the very beginning of video as Mr. Bloomquist pulled on track for qualifications there was a name spoken by announcer….Pete Parker. Ca anyone tell me if it was the GREAT Pete Parker of Kaukauna Wi. If so oh man he was the man everyone rooted against across wi, ill, minnesota dating back at least to early 70s. Id be rootin for him here though

I think it was him. But not sure. I know when he and Willie Kraft came to Kingsport Speedway yrs, and yrs ago, they were both faster than #41 Buck Simmons but since it was a one groove track they never got around Buck. My dad actually turned me on to Willie Kraft. Them 2 guys(Pete and Willie) wasn't hated in southeast. Always ran good that I got that I got to see.

@@MrChristopherHaas Thank you for the info. I've all but stopped going to dirt track racing. They don't run supers around here anymore and I haven't been to a late model race since '17. Took my nephew to Eldora. I'd seen #83 Willie Kraft down south a several times and no matter where he was racing, if they didn't know his name before the race they knew it after the race.

@@cumminsrealpower680 the dirt tracks i grew up with near milwaukee mile are gone now. Regular folks cant afford to go racing any more, factory workers and such. Like my dad. And his friends. I have learned who Willie Kraft is through you tube, recently discovered dirt track racin isnt as dead as i thought it was, watching races from last 30 years that i missed.
