@@StarrLikeRingo I definitely do. Like they really don't read the comics at all it seems. Thor became a joke. Adam Warlock was useless, but at least Vol. 3 was a great movie with a great villain and Rocket's story was excellent. Honestly Adam Warlock wasn't needed in GOTG. Should've gotten a solo story but idk

He's a psychopath; sociopath's are much more disorganized in their behavior and lifestyle and appearance generally. They also can feel a range of normal emotions but end up hurting people in a - it is psychopaths who do not feel remorse or guilt and are generally more intelligent and well kept. This is a common misconception that teh public has that sociopaths and psychopaths are interchangeable - it's not true. Psychopaths are much rarer than sociopaths and when they both commit their crimes in fundamentally different ways. If we're talking about serial murder as a hypothetical way of describing the difference - a sociopath is the type of person that is on the fringes of society; they don't really plan their criminal behavior. Their psychological profile is such that they can't feel connected to "society" so they feel a constant feeling of not belonging; no matter who accepts them. This causes them to erraticly perform behaviors often in outbursts, like a rage where they are out of control and that often self sabotage the positive friend or family relationships that they do manage. A sociopath is on the fringes usually and internally they desperately want to be a normal part of society, but when they try to go about a normal lifestyle, their marked tendency toward boredom and depression leads them down paths of criminal behavior, they'd be more likely to say something like "I want to belong, but I just don't." Psychopaths don't care about society or people on a fundamental level, they can't care even if they wanted to. A psychopath is much more of a chameleon. But they are often of above average intellects and excel into high paying professions. ( think Christian Bale from American psycho ) their inability to feel empathy leaves them unable to see the inherent value of human beings and that is why they can so easily manipulate people. They don't choose this btw - this is inherent in their own brains biological structure. When they kill they are organized and much harder to catch and they are often very rituatlistic and act on a more strict set of behaviors and timetables that allows them to manage their desires. The sociopath is far more erratic and unhinged; they can empathize and feel guilt and remorse but they never feel as if they belong; like they are an alien living among us - but they don't try to blend in like a psychopath does, they act out and cause problems in society in an attempt to feel a place or purpose in it that they can't normally feel. It's been theorized in evolutionary biology/psychology that the sociopath and psychopath evolved natural in human beings as a way of producing more effective warriors as human beings for over a million years have been warring for territory and resources and will always be taht way. The psychopath is the methodical, emotionless, icecold killer - able to completely disconnect their emotions from their actions. The sociopath is more like the Berserker warrior that would be on the frontlines and loving and enjoying the fight - as it gives them the place in "society" that they actually are intended for - on the outside but with a purpose. I studied this extensively in college :) truuuuust me :)

Hey Rob, at about the 56 minute part you talk about the one above all not being able to will Astral regulator Thanos out of existence. I think Thanos answers why it doesn't happen near the end of it. One above could have intervened the second Thanos got the regulator but let the tribunal make the mistake because he wanted Thanos to change something, similar to when Thanos "stopped" resurrections.

I'd love to have a brief conversation with Thanos over a very log distance about how his obsession with killing everything is probably perceived as cruel by Death which is why he's not welcome in her realm and why she's never going to be with him. Seems like he's his own worst enemy at times.

You keep mentioning Thanos destroying the universe and remaking it, but I don’t remember reading the “remaking it” part. (It’s very likely I missed it, otherwise I almost feel that you’re giving Thanos too much credit here) Most of the story led me to believe Thanos was destroying the entire concept of existence, himself included, with no intention of returning. From that perspective, I assumed that the timeline where Thanos had gained the ability to destroy the universe have been disrupted by one of the core pillars of his belief changing. That being, Adam being capable of trusting him for no self gain, purely because he could (which up ends a lot of the monologue that Thanos had been saying when he was about to destroy himself and reality.) So the ending is not necessarily about the universe being recreated but the timeline where the universe is destroyed not having existed at all. It has a stronger narrative tether to the attempts that Eros was making to tell Thanos that he was loved. As in Eros himself was trying to destroy one of the core ideas of nihilism that Thanos has, which is that everything he does is for no reason, with no purpose, and with no connections. So when his genuine connection to another person, (that being his mental tether to Adam warlock in terms of their psyche, their universe saving experiences, and their tenuous companionship) Adam reminding him of their relationship is what undermines the ideal. There is not a future where Thanos can honestly agree with the argument made by the alternate version of his future self. It would also explain why the story kicks off so Thanos killing Death(his love interest) and why there is an entire splash page dedicated to Adam and Thanos’ encounters in the past at the end of the story. At least that’s how I read it.

Slight mistake: If Adam warlock becoming living tribunal is the exception to that story being part of main marvel continuity because living tribunal is a multi dimensional being. Then thanos becoming "the one above all (others)" should be as well, since he's a multi dimensional being and he created the living tribunal.

being slightly into future explained: Light and sound take time to travel. The light from the sun takes 8 minutes to get to the earth so if the sun when turned purple all of a sudden, we wouldn't know until 8 minutes later. If you are 1/10000000th of a second in the future you would still be able to see and hear the events that are going on because you would see the light and hear the sound because it still hasn't dissipated but the people in that moment wouldn't see you because the light and sound generated by you hasn't happened yet. It's actually pretty a brilliant plot device and has logic to it

1:11:19 This is just Starlin going by what he established. Sui-San going mad after seeing baby Thanos and trying to kill him as well as Thanos killing his mother are both things Jason Aaron retconned into the comics. Originally Sui-San didn't try to kill him and just treated him like her son and the way she dies is after Thanos carpet bombs all of Titan essentially killing most of the population alongside his mother. It makes Sui-San's death less personal instead of having Thanos dissect her, she dies after Thanos kills the other Eternal Titans but also doesn't really care when he finds out that his mother was among them. In a way his indiference made him more of a monster and it's also why Mentor hates him.

Because as a character in the story he wouldn't but outside of the story he litterally just have to lift the book. That's my explanation of "If god exist, our logic doesn't apply to him". In a comic book, litterally all the moments showed exist at the same time, but characters don't feel that... We don't feel that either.

I really, really, really dug this video!!!!!Thank you!!!!!!!!After the MCU version of infinity War,Endgame and watching all your other videos concerning the Infinity Gauntlet and everything Thanos I have to admit I was Infinity and Thanos'd out.I took like a year or so break from all of it,from your channel and pretty much from all things Marvel except for occasional videos about X-Men Comics just to feed my X-Men addiction.However....I love Adam Warlock's character and I needed some sort of closure about the relationship between Adam Warlock and Thanos as well as what happened to Thanos further down the infinity timeline. This Video gave me that and I am forever grateful🙂Have a wonderful day Rob and take good care.

This is incredible... As a community, we can only covet the stories, Hollywood would never touch! That's where the meat and potatoes are.. the grand stage so big, Kevin Fiege won't waste the money!!! Let's stop and think creators like Statlin, whose nights of expansive work, can never truly, be used... 🏆🙌✌🏽
