Thanks. We don't have time for haters on this channel. There's a reason why my channel is one of the biggest car detailing channels on KZread as we're on our way to 1 million subscribers, and have surpassed 105 million views: my audience trusts me and they know how passionate I am about car detailing, and I love sharing my knowledge and passion with my viewers. But like anything in life, it's impossible to please everyone, plus there are always people jealous of one's success. Those people should spend less time trolling the internet, and more time working harder on their own life and trying to improve themselves instead of hating on others. ;)

Thanks for the update Pan. I heard that the Adams Graphene Coating in the Black and Gold bottle (rather than the lighter Black and Silver bottle) like you show here is a very good coating. I like when real world updates are done to show the actual effectiveness of products after being in normal day to day driving conditions in all weather, especially up there in Canada where you get those brutal winters. There is probably no better test bed than Canada to test real world effectiveness of any type of wax, sealant, or coating due to the various driving conditions you experience up there. No manufacturer will tell you any of the "cons" per se of their product, they only give you what they think is the good aspects of the product due to wanting to make all their coin on the product! I think it goes a long long way when you show real, live, normal conditions that all of us experience when driving. I hope you are having a great start to 2023 Pan and look forward to your upcoming exceptional content, conducting reviews, product testing, interviews, etc. I would love to see some more content using that beautiful Porsche 911 you have on your hands sir! Thanks for the update. I applied the Adam's Advanced Graphene Coating on two vehicles last summer, my wife's 2007 Saturn Sky and my 2022 Camaro 2SS 1LE. Both are garage kept and only driven during nice weather, so of course it's holding up really well. I should be picking up a 2019 Ford Fiesta ST this coming weekend, and will be doing a full paint correction/polish come the Spring and will then apply the Adam's Advanced Graphene Coating on that as well. That will be my daily driver year round, and will be parked outside, so it will have to deal with all four seasons. That will give me a much better idea on how the coating will hold up under less than ideal conditions. Seeing how it's performing here gives me hope that it should last a good while.

Awesome! And don't forget, maintenance is key for any coating. The better you care for a vehicle, the longer the protection will last and the better it will perform.

@PanTheOrganizer
Жыл бұрын
Thanks Jameel. Just to be clear, the Adam's Graphene Shampoo doesn't add any hydrophobic properties or protection, as I mentioned in the video, the graphene in this case is only for better lubrication and also the soap has superior degreasing properties compared to the regular Adam's Car Shampoo, hence why it helps to restore the hydrophobics that might be masked by grime and road film.

Hahaha I doubt my girlfriend will still have her vehicle at that point. I don't think anyone will test coatings for that long. Also, keep in mind that "claimed" durability is never the actual real world durability. For many reasons and variables that scientists can't account for in their testing: prep, application, conditions, daily driver vs weekend driven, car that stays outside in the elements 24/7 vs garage kept, maintenance, etc. So what they do in labs is simulate washes and certain conditions as best they can and extrapolate durability. So I view durability more as an comparison between different products, and not a true durability. Meaning a 7 year coating should in theory last longer compared to a 2 year coating, but I don't expect the 7 year coating to actually last 7 years. You will likely get 4 to 5 years out of it in real world use. Watch an interesting video I made with an industry chemist who explains testing and durability claims: kzread.info/dash/bejne/c2yKmcGBqdbMp6Q.html

There will be no visible different on the hydrophobics after the detail spray, as the hydrophobics had already been restored after the degreasing properties of the shampoo were used. The water beads were perfectly round and tight, and the sheeting rate was super fast.
Just applied this today and it couldn't have gone smoother. Super easy to apply and remove and the car looks amazing. Fortunately I have a few days to let the car sit in the garage and cure. Used very little of the product on a 2015 Prius. Not sure if I put it on a little thin or not, but I still have 3/4 of the bottle left. @Pan The Organizer ... sadly I reluctantly utilize the local car wash facilities... I am reluctant to use the waterless wash method.
@PanTheOrganizer
Жыл бұрын
Always use water when accessible/possible. I would never recommend a waterless wash unless you have ZERO access to water. If you can at least fill a bucket with water, a better alternative to a waterless wash is using a rinseless wash. A rinseless wash still uses water (in the bucket) compared to a waterless wash that uses ZERO water. In a waterless wash method, you just spray the waterless wash and wipe. Hence why rinseless washes are considered a safer technique compared to waterless. Less chances of scratching and marring the paint. And also, with a rinseless wash, use common sense. If the car is super dirty, you would pre-rinse first with a garden hose or pressure washer. Rinseless wash doesn't mean you never rinse, it just means no rinsing is needed at the end of the process. But my favourite method to wash a car is the traditional one with buckets, water and microfiber wash mitts.

@PanTheOrganizer

The UV light is only when you are applying the coating the first time. I showed that in this video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/m5iJl7qseLfQZ7w.html I asked that question to the main chemist who formulates this, Chris Gallahar, and here was the answer I received: "The UV-tracer is designed as an application aid and a double-check immediately after application. The UV-tracer in the product is a fluorescing optical brightener and while it is robust, it is not as robust as the ceramic coating and will break down when over exposed to UV light like several sunny days. It’s not designed to withstand more than a week or so after the coating has been applied. It’s for visual confirmation of the successful installation of the coating and can help act as a training aid as well as an opportunity to evaluate how the coating has leveled and whether different application techniques get better results."

Do you ever use additives like AmmoNYC Boost in the winter? I just got some (I’m in NE Ohio) and tried it for the first time tonight - added it to Adams Graphene Shampoo. I don’t know if it “worked,” but it definitely made the shampoo even slicker.

It's not season-dependant. You would use Restart Wash every other month to also do some light iron removal, or you can use Bathe followed by an iron remover. What ever works for you.
Question: could it be possible that the coating has failed and the “restoring” of the beading is from the graphene soap you just applied? I’ve been questioning whether or not my coatings are in fact still killing it or if it looks great because I’m always adding some type of topper or protection
@PanTheOrganizer

Not in this case, as the shampoo used here doesn't add any protection. As I mentioned in the video, the graphene in there adds zero protection, it was infused for slickness and degreasing properties. Not all infusions are formulated for protection. Hey Pan, I have applied the same coating around 2 months ago. Then I tried with the p&s rinseless wash, it restores the hydrophobic properties on the paint, even on the side skirt, but the glass is struggling a bit. The water tends to sheet off slowly instead of from water droplets. (They start to fly of roughly when I am driving 50-60mph). I am not sure if that the coating issue, or the rinseless wash do not have enough degreasing power🤷🏻♂️
@PanTheOrganizer
Жыл бұрын
Rinseless washes in general don’t have strong degreasing properties. They are good cleaners. Try a shampoo like the Adam’s Graphene Shampoo. If that doesn’t work then perhaps the coating started to fail on the glass or you have accumulated hard water which is masking the coating properties.
Hi Pan! Great video, but I have one question. Why not use a cold degreaser and iron remover and then alkaline prewash foam and rinse before contactwash on this dirty paintwork? Just rinse and then contact wash with only add swirls and marring to the painwork... or did you do this for another reason this time? On your Porsche i belive that you wouldn't do this metod and only rinse and then go diretcly to contact wash.. or am i wrong? Take care!

There are many ways to wash a car. My favourite method for a spring maintenance I showed in this tutorial: kzread.info/dash/bejne/oYiVqKeYoJW1cdo.html But not everyone goes to that extent. And depending on the level of dirt on a vehicle, it's not always needed for each weekly wash, obviously. Common sense applies here. So in this case, I wanted to demonstrate the degreasing capabilities of the shampoo, which is specific to this case study here. If I had used 3 different chemicals, it would have been more difficult to know which one really unclogged the coating. And it's perhaps a more realistic maintenance cleaning that more viewers will perform. If you know what you're doing, there isn't any marring induced by this method. The paint was still pristine.
It’s a tough time of the year if you’re a Detailer here in Canada. I’m in the southern central interior of BC. The vehicle gets nice and clean and then two blocks later it’s dirty again. Oh well, at least the salt and that liquid de-icer is off.

Hey Pan love your videos as always? What are your thoughts on the graphene coating vs a ceramic coating when it comes to UV protection. I applied carpro ceramic coating last year and due to my black car sitting outside in the sun it seems to have created major holes in the coating. How does the graphene compare in that aspect?
@PanTheOrganizer
Жыл бұрын
Measuring UV protection is nearly impossible unless you're in a lab environment, so we rely on manufacturer claims on that. It doesn't matter if it's graphene or ceramic on that topic. Both should protect the clear coat equally. Most graphene coatings are a ceramic coating with reduced graphene oxide (RGO) infused in them anyways. How do you know that the coating created "major holes"?? That seems impossible to see. You don't see the coating on the clear coat.

CarPro CQuartz UK 3.0 is still my favourite consumer grade coating, as mentioned in my most recent awards video here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/mYar1dynp8m6p6g.html That being said, that coating lasts 24 months on average. The Adam's Advanced Graphene Ceramic Coating has a claimed durability of up to 9 years, so in theory should last longer. Nobody has had the chance to test it for over three years yet, as it's still fairly new to the market. It's also a bit more difficult to apply compared to CQUK.

Would you apply an IPA spray on the panels before applying the ceramic coating?
@PanTheOrganizer
5 ай бұрын
You should always perform an IPA wipe before applying a coating (unless you are using a ceramic primer polish, but that's a totally different conversation). And usually, the brand of coating you are using has their own paint prep spray. So to ensure chemical compatibility, I would use the paint prep spray from the same brand if possible. But before all of that, there are many other steps to wash and decontaminate and polish the paintwork. See my tutorial on how to properly apply a ceramic coating here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/paWFu7ijqKnXe5M.html
Very much enjoying and learning from your content as I prepare to try my hand at paint protection this spring. I coated my BMW with the original Adams Graphene Ceramic Coating in 2020, and it is still holding up very well. Every three months I add in Adams Ceramic Boost after a maintenance wash. The water beading and sheeting characteristics are great, and the paint really “pops” especially after doing the ceramic boost! The only problem with this product is that it is more difficult to apply than other ceramic coatings, and there is a higher probability of getting some raised coated areas. If you can apply indoors using the UV light, you can probably catch that, but if you have to apply outside it is really hard to catch before everything is completely cured.
