Adam Penning's Guide To Autumn Carp Fishing

Welcome to Adam Penning’s Carp Academy: created to help YOU catch more carp! ⭕ 𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝘂𝗽 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲: bit.ly/3L9A7KE
The mornings are cool and crisp, the evenings are short-lived, and the summer holidays are but a distant memory. The banks are quieter and anglers’ footfall is much reduced. Autumn carp fishing, then, is the antithesis of what came before. Our quarry will feed obligingly, and target fish are often at their heaviest. The availability of natural food declines too, and so the odds of success swing much more in the carp angler’s favour as the days shorten. Adam runs through all the key areas when it comes to how he approaches his carp fishing in the autumn months.

Agree 💯..back a couple decades at least, autumn was the big fish season, while hot summer and cold winter was the worst..with carp fishing popularity now, autumn is definitely the most difficult season, and I personally believe carp have adapted to feeding mid winter. Last 5 years I had many more fish in a mild Jan day than October and November. Spring is definitely the best season now, fish are not pressured in the winter and with temperature raising making the perfect feeding response

Great point. Q... is it hindering the carps quality of life? I'm old school and believe they need a few months break.

Completely agree with your theory of carp adapting and evolving, many argue carp is just a dumb animal who eats everything when hungry, I understand and agree partially, hence when they eat you have to fish perfectly, but I do believe carp become more clever with time passing, and there's mug carp that gets caught over and over again or carp that rarely comes out. The issue is nowadays as a carp angler is personalising to extremes your fishing to try and trick a fish, specially on medium-hard waters, in autumn. Logically, each species adapt and evolve in time, developing defence mechanisms to survive, don't see why carp won't do the same.

I'm a USA carp fisherman and im fishing rivers that are dams about 10 miles apart and the river is about 500 yards wide. How do I find fish on these waters? What should I be looking for? My typical approach is dump a few 5 gallon buckets of corn and fish on it a few days later.

How about a video about the influences of wind? When they get on them? When they back they back off them? The contrast between the influence through the seasons? The rules and examples of exceptions to the rules? Effects of things like storms, floods, low water levels and the timeline of how slowly and quickly carp react to these changes. Great videos keep them coming

I think this is very helpful in certain aspects but tbh its why i dont like carp fishing or carp fishermen all they seem to want to do is get the point across that they dont want other amateur carp anglers fishing because they ruin the fishing by over baiting but contradicts himself by saying they are getting natural food and good quality food so how could that be down to amateur anglers and i know he didnt say anything about amateur anglers but its the point he is getting at carp anglers are very selfish people the ammount of times ive had arguments with carp anglers because im on their spot on a lake and its always the same excuse "this is my local lake" they feel entitled as he said the world is in constant changes has been since existence so it is fuck all to do with getting caught too many times a year or people over feeding its called natural change the fish just aint stupid no more lile they was 20 or 30 years ago but there was very good advise apart from that shit at the start ill always be a course angler 😂
