My mom actually got me into a therapist when my mom and ex-step dad got divorced when I was 11. I am glad that she did to this day.
Wonderful women, all of you. If I would have known tiny me could have been diagnosed with mental illness and had been properly treated early on, life would have been SO much better. It took a few decades to get to the point where I was finally able to learn how to manage my illness. And, as a mom, I am so relieved that I'm able to be here for my daughter as she tries to cope with the shocking knowledge at being diagnosed with bipolar disorder. I'll be here to take her hand and support her to the very best of my ability. It meant the world to me that she came to me and voiced her fears and trusted me to help her begin the process of figuring things out.
